"Tell me," Nick sips from the coffee in his cup. She mimics it by drinking from her own, "Why'd you want to become a cop?"

Judy realizes that she never told him this story, which comes as a shock since she's told him every other story, "Well, when I was younger, there was this kid, Gideon. A real jerk. Makes you seem like an angel," she pauses just to chuckle at the you're so clever look he's giving her, "He always used to pick on me along with some other kids. And I, being the hero I am, felt like I needed to defend them. Of course I did . It didn't make him to happy, though. From then on I kept thinking that the world is full of people like him and I need to protect the people. That's why I'm a cop."

He nods, looking between her eyes that are burning holes into the ground and her ears that twitch every other second.

"Sounds like a great reason to me," he smiles and feels a skip in his heartbeat at the slight blush creeping up on her cheeks.

"Yeah, well. He became my parents business partner, so it worked out."

Nick crosses his arms over his chest while pushing farther into the wooden office chair, "Here's my real question."

One eyebrow raises, "Go on."

Feeling slightly nervous, he begins shaking his foot. Realizing this, Judy pats his shoulder only causing him to feel slightly more, "Why'd you want me as a partner?"

"You?" she points one finger his way. He only nods as a response, "Because, Nick, you helped me solve the biggest case in Zootopia. That seems pretty fitting for a cop."

"I guess, but-"

With one finger to his lips, she stops him. It's his turn to blush now, "Like I said before, you are so much more than a sneaky fox. You're someone I trust to solve all cases with because we just work. I don't know how, but we do. Answer your question?"

She feels his lips curling into a grin against her finger and she immediately pulls away, "Yes. Yes, it does.
