Short and sweet. I don't really ship these two as much as Tamaharu, but they could be cute...

"Kyouya-senpai, you wanted to ask me something?" Haruhi said nervously.

"Haruhi, do you have feelings for Tamaki?" Kyouya asked. In his nearly-emotionless voice, there was an unusual hint of jealousy. It was barely evident, but Haruhi heard it. She had Kyouya-senpai all figured out, except for one thing: why was he asking her this?

"Of course not, senpai! Of all the hosts I could pick, why would I want that complete idiot? Do you really think I'm that stupid?" she replied incredulously.

"So you do have feelings for one of us?" he asked curiously.

Haruhi blushed. "Maybe."

"Who is it, Haruhi? I need to know," Kyouya said. Granted, it had nothing to do with club affairs, but there was another reason for him to know. Not that he would ever tell her.

"Uh, do you really need to know?" Haruhi asked, breaking into a sweat.

"Yes, of course. Why would I lie about that?" he replied casually.

"You know, senpai, you can be so annoyingly inquisitive sometimes. But fine. I'll tell you...on one condition," Haruhi said coolly.

"And what would that condition be?" Kyouya asked, taking a step towards her. They were only inches apart now, and if they wanted to, a single kiss could be claimed by bridging the gap.

"You tell me your real reason for asking, and I'll give you an answer. Deal?" Haruhi said, fighting to keep her voice steady.

"Deal. The truth is, Haruhi..." Kyouya couldn't bear to finish the sentence. His face contorted into an expression of both hope and despair. Either his world would get torn down or built up, just by her answer.

He tried again. "Haruhi, I love you. And I couldn't stand it if you wanted to be with Tamaki and I ruined it for both of you, because he so clearly loves you too. So tell me, please," Kyouya's voice broke, and his eyes looked lost.

"Senpai...I...love you too," Haruhi said.

"Wait...you do?" Kyouya asked, blinking.

"Of course! You're the only reason I haven't been trying to find another way out of my debt. Being in the Host Club is only bearable because you're a part of it," Haruhi said, smiling.

"Well...okay," Kyouya said, unsure. He wasn't used to this. To love. He thought Renge was an asset to the club, but there was no romance there, contrary to what Renge herself seemed to believe. He had no fuzzy affection for either his father or his brothers. His sister was, well, his sister. He loved her and all, but she was annoying sometimes...just as she would be if she ever found out that he and this commoner were in love. The only reason Haruhi was even at this school was due to her outstanding intelligence, and that could never be enough to offset her social status. Yes, he was definitely going to get it from his entire family.

But in a manner that only a host could manage, he smiled, took Haruhi's hand, kissed it gently, and then tenderly caressed her cheek. Then the space between them was gone as they embraced, together at last.
