"Morning, Adriana."
I sit up and rub my eyes.
"Mmmf," I say, and scramble out of bed.
"What? Sorry, I can't hear you."
Morning Newt."
"There we go. Now, remember, meeting in five." He walks into my room.
"Oh Sh*t, I forgot! yell.
"ADRIANA!"
"Okay then. F**k it."
"I'm warning you..."
"Um... Sh... F... Shuck. Okay, Shuck."
"Shuck?" Newt asks.
"Yeah. Shuck."
"Okay. I'll leave you to get dressed."
"Shuck you," I smiled, and we both started laughing.
"Yeah, bye."
I pull on my shirt and jeans. The boys know I hate skirts, so they occasionally leave a dress or something to tick me off. Being the girl and all.
Time to introduce myself. I'm Adriana. Ari for short. I'm around fifteen, though I don't actually know. I've been dumped in a huge maze with a load of other boys. Though I'm a girl. The only girl.
Boyfriend? Um... Newt and I are kinda close...
I trudge out of my room, down the stairs and outside. The morning air is cool, moist, and I sigh. I break into a run, catching up with Newt.
"Heya!" I jump and fling my arms around his neck. He turns, and smiles.
"Up already?" He teases, "I thought you weren't a morning person."
I gently tug on a strand of his blond hair.
"Ari!" Minho jogs up to us, arm looping round my shoulder.
"Minnie, you shuckface!" I yell.
"I'm a whatwhat?" he asks.
"It's a word she made up earlier," Newt explains, ruining the hours of fun I could have had ahead.
That's us. The troublesome threesome. No one could ever replace any of us.
The sarcastic Minho. The quiet Newt. And the sassy ME.
Because that's how it's always gonna be, right?
For Centuries.
But how come no one mentions Adriana in the books? How come she isn't there? It's still the same Gladers, right?
