It was dark out and on the hill she was on the stars were shining as they had not since her childhood. She loved it here on the hill. The night sky looked like a dome over the entire world and she could pretend that it was a protective barrier that would let nothing through. Pretend the world was safe now and forever. However, she knew better.
She herself disproved this theory. Her grandfather fell from the very heavens above. He and the ones that shared his blood were different from the rest of the life forms on this planet. They had come from a totally different planet and had adopted the planet as there home. As she was one of the blood she knew that the barrier was easily broken.
On top of this she knew the world's kami. He too was not part of the world below. He had also come through the barrier. If that wasn't enough her grandfather, father, uncle, and her prince and his family had helped the kami guard the world. The stories she was told and the ones she had been in disproved that the barrier would keep the world safe and relatively happy.
Now, however she was one of the last with the blood of aliens left. The purebloods long since gone in saving the world or following their mates had left her and the half bloods. Her father had followed her mother in death. Her uncle had disappeared on day and weeks later his ki disappeared from existence. Prince Trunks had inherited too much from his mother and fell by way of human dieses, who knew being a partier could kill you. On that note who knew Bulma's cancer wasn't just from smoking, but was passed along to her and she in turn passed in to Princess Bra. While all had children she felt she was the only one left.
In a since she was the only one left. She was the only one who seemed to remember the stories and take them as fact. Even her own children thought the stories were just fairy tales. What could truly pierce that almighty protective barrier on the world? She just hoped they learned to believe and learn from the stories before it was to late.
She was very old and she knew she would die this night up in that glorious star filled barrier. She however, knew that it would by the children more time to learn to believe. She just hoped that what she was about to do would be enough of a wake up call.
They were coming. She could clearly feel them trying to get through the distance to get to her world. A few minutes left to gaze at her beloved home. She was old and tired, but had the strength to do this one last thing for the world. She knew the ones coming were weak and just a scout, but to those on this planet they had more then enough power to harm. She would take them out as they came in.
Ah, there they were. She slowly rose into the air. She would for one last time be a hero. It would be a great death to die and in such a wonderful place, that all encompassing starry barrier.
