It all started by a small conversation on a train back home. A small chit chatting about their daily lifes. A small curiosity about themself. A small bond between them was made because a little kindness and that's what Kisaragi Shintarou experience helping a petite, cheerful girl picking her stuffs scrambled on the floor became a small story for him. Though, he kept a small curiosity about 'her', the girl he always met every 7.30 am, every 15.00 pm, every day, on the train he always took back home, she had a long brown hair, sparkly eyes whenever she went, and a warm red scarf warp around her neck. He once had felt the warm-ness of her scarf in the middle of winter when he had forgot to bring his scarf, the scent of the scarf made him snuggle, even he tried not to.

Today, it was his birthday. He sat down at the seat he always sat with a small box of cupcake on his lap, he just got it from a near friend of him. He looked out to the window of the train and went it stop at the 'girl' stop, he could already see a red scarf fluttering. As the door opened, he could see the cheerful face of Tateyama Ayano. "Ah! Shintarou-kun!" She cried stepping into the train and sat beside him. "Oh! What's that?" Asked Ayano pointing to the box on Shintarou's lap. "It's nothing" he scoffed, shoving the box into his bag. "Hey! No fair! I always tell you things that are in my box!" cried Ayano trying to reach his bag. But he stopped her by holding her shoulder. "No, it's still a no" grinned Shintarou as Ayano started to make those puffing cheeks. "Well~ how's your day?" Started Ayano. "Always the same" groaned Shintarou. "You always say the same thing" cried Ayano shaking Shintarou's shoulder.

"Ouch! Stopped it!" He cried gripping Ayano's wrist. Ayano let out a soft growl making Shintarou realized what he had just done. He quickly let go of his grip and murmured, "I'm sorry" under his breath. Ayano took a small glance to Shintaro and paint a small, warm heart smile. "That's okay, Shintaro-". An awkward silence came between both of them. Ayano opened her mouth try to speak but, 'Next Station is Sakahara, Next Station is Sakahara'. "Ah! My station!" Cried Ayano, she stood up and suddenly unwrapped her red scarf, before the train doors open, she quickly wrapped her scarf onto Shintaro's next making him surprised by the warmth of her scarf. "It's a small present for our farewall, Happy Birthday Shintaro-kun" smiled Ayano giving a small kiss on his cheeks making his face redder. "Tell Momo-chan I said Hello". As the door opens, Ayano quickly jumped off and wave goodbye to Shintaro who seemed speechless, he didn't understand what Ayano meant by 'farewell' but all he could see is just Ayano got smaller and smaller from a distance before the train started to move again.

'I'm sorry, I died'

Shintaro woke up.

He had the strangest dream in his life. He looked down and saw the red scarf wrapped around his neck. He looked around himself and found him in a train way back home. He sighed, 'Next stop Sakahara, Next Stop Sakahara'. Maybe he wouldn't see the usual cheerful face again, or the curiosity of the usual girl again, all he can do is to visit her everyday at the grave, murmuring about her death. His eyes looked back again at his scarf, gripping it tight, before he felt a buzz in his pocket, he took his phone and slid it open. 'Nii-chan, where are you? The pizza will arrive soon' it was from Momo. Shintaro sighed again, 'Happy Birthday to me, huh?' Remembering those words that Ayano said to him.

It will be a long journey for him to meet Ayano again.
