Just a little ficlet about my favorite character from the series. It's kind of what Harry Potter feels about Snape throughout the series. Enjoy. :)

I do not own Harry Potter.

Greasy Hair

There's always that one person who seems to be the nastiest, meanest, most greasy-haired, appalling human in your lifetime. He makes your life miserable, taking 100 house points away just for being late to class. He's the reason why you sit for hours in a shabby room redoing your potions homework while you could've been playing quidditch with your best mates. He truly is the cruelest human you have ever known. Of course, he saves your butt a coupletimes, but by looking at the reluctant, disgusted look on his face it seems like it was the last thing he wanted to do.

But then, you find out how he spent days and nights in his youth being bullied by YOUR father, who teased him and hexed him and made his life a living hell. Then, as he got older, he had been tortured, forced to lie to his dearest friends, and had been ripped away from his only, truest, deepest love. You instantly feel pity rush through your body, knowing now why he feels the sore "hatred" towards you, for you are the spawn of his enemy. Maybe all this stress led to his greasy hair.

Although, when you start to really think about his past life, he disguises himself as a terrible monster, making everyone despise him AGAIN, enough to want to kill him. Anger flushes through your body, for you feel more hatred towards him than the Dark Lord himself. You want to crush his soul 'till there is nothing left. He did "kill" the greatest, most inspiring wizard of all time. You are pretty sure his greasy hair helped with that.

The time comes though, when you are holding him in your bloody arms and he is dying, soaked in pain. For you, for everyone else, for the freaking world, he is giving up his life. You suddenly know how he had to protect you from the deepest, darkest roots of evil, because he knew you were his love's son. She was the reason why he could not give you to harm, for he knew you would be exactly like your mother, brave and loyal. He protects you from the Dark Lord, just after your mother falls to the ground. Then you watch him hold your mother's limp, lifeless body as he cries, rocking her in his arms back and forth. You cannot do anything, for you are merely a baby, knowing nothing except for a deep, throbbing, scarlet pain on your forehead, and a blinding flash of green light. The flashback ends. You have no memory of greasy, shining, black hair.

The next thing you know, YOU are the one rocking his energy-less body back and forth, tears spilling out of both of your eyes. He tells you how you have your mother's eyes, you similar you are. He would do anything to save you, and that's what he did. You watch him stutter on his last, peaceful breaths. Now HE is the most inspiring person you met, the one you will name your kids after, the one who will be in history passed down from generation to generation. He is the hero, not you. He has been, ALWAYS. Even if he DID have the greasiest hair you have ever seen.

Please review! :D That would make my day.
