The world has always been a jungle, the toughest survivors where the strong preys on the weak. There are decent people too, Akiyama's not too closed-minded to see, but also not too naïve to believe it would become a perfect world. Unless someone brainwashed everyone to be good, but "good" is vary from person and he didn't want to turn into a mindless robot blindingly follows every command. And what if good means man wearing red heels? or hugging an angry tiger, even better giving it a kiss and shove your head into its mouth, a good deed of feeding a hungry animal.
Humans are selfish, weak and can easily be driven by emotions which often fallen preys to lust, greed, fear, to other human, being taken advantage of, controlled, manipulated, and forced by circumstance to take a stand. They knowingly lie, cheat, harm, and do un-imaginary cruel things, like people in the Liar Game, in wars, as long as they got what they want or to survive. He himself was forced, or he told himself, by circumstance, his mother's death, to take a criminal path and destroyed the fraud company that demolished her live.
So what his thought about bringing another life to join the human race? His opinion wasn't very high.
His hand gently cups her round stomach, and then learns his ear against it to listen to the inaudible small heartbeats and looks at the mother's content bright smile that he can't help, but forms one too.
His idea about the world stills not change, but with her, he welcomes another life. The child is healthy, their child. Akiyama, know how polluted the world is and not naive to believe that the child would be untouched by the contaminated world, and doesn't plans to be over protective and shields him from everything because that would leave him vulnerable, an easy prey. Instead he would guide him to the right path, exposed him to the real world little by little. With Nao, his beloved wife who was able to save those lost souls in the Lair Game where all minds were corrupted and distrusted, their son would be fine. She always says he saved her, but to him it is the other way around.
Their son will grow up, joining the world, and might lost his way sometimes, but he and Nao will always be there to help him, to guide him and make sure he live a healthy life. The world may not be paradise, and the jungle systems will continues, but he will make sure his family, Nao and his son are as happy they could be. The same as Nao's loves has made him whole.
