This is the end. This war will either kill us or save us all. Every last creature these lands have raised and nurtured will either fight or perish. And yet, what hope do they find in fighting? For even here, I know that even in resistance, there is still weakness.
This sweet surrender is but melancholy bliss, for I know that, amongst the bodies of my kin, there is much to weep for, and nothing of rejoicing. May Illuvitar guide these lost wanders that have fallen on this road to freedom. A freedom they will never see.
So here I fall, never to pass away into the lands of my kin. Many of my brothers lie about me in eternal rest. Be at peace my brothers. Be at peace, O wandering mind of mine. For here. for Men I have fallen. Men that we so ignorantly scorned for their short-lived ignorance, find hope in what has been left to you. And light the way.
Hang my light its last upon its post, for I will not be returning to my home. Give peace to guide with in these lands we leave, and be on your way to the Undying Lands, my kin.
