Just a random drabble that popped into my head after re-reading TTC.

The hellhound pack thundered behind me. If I stopped, they would tear me to bloody pieces.
"And here we show what happens to demigods who try to escape," the woman said with an odd smile.
The demigods behind her watched me, some with blank, emotionless expressions, others filled with pity. Most of them looked horrified. Nobody could blame them. You'd look horrified if you were watching a fifteen year old boy getting chased to his death. I could feel myself getting weaker and more tired with other lap of the arena. The hellhounds noticed this and howled with delight, pouring on the speed.
Panic seized my body, making it go stiff with fear. Seeing as I was being chased by a pack of murderous hellhounds, this was the worst possible moment for that to happen. Why this slow, painful death? I thought. Why did I have to suffer death by hellhound pack?
I stumbled on the hard, reddish earth, the earth which had been run upon by countless demigods chased by rabid hellhounds before, before falling completely, face planting right onto the ground.
As the pack, claws sharp and ready to rip, leapt upon their half-dead prey, a thought flowed through my exhausted brain:
Why, Thalia, daughter of Zeus? Why did you have to sacrifice the Ophiotaurus's entrails to fire and doom us all?
