There comes a time when everyone has to look back to think about what happened to lead them to this point. All great men go through this, and even though I wouldn't class myself with those people, I see what they meant. Time stops for no man I had heard once and now I wish more than ever it would. As I look back over the ruins of my village, the groans of the people and the smears of blood on the floor that mark where a battle had taken place, I can't help but wish I could turn it back, change what happened. Though would I do it differently? Would it have changed where I stood? Instead of standing here in the ruins, would I be standing here at all? Would anyone I know be still alive, though it was a fair bit less than what it started as. As I look to my right, a black dragon at my side, gazing among the wreck of the village, I think about the close calls we all have had. I look back to the front and notice something on the horizon. Something bigger was coming.

Though were we ready to defend the last of our home from it?

All I knew was, I, hiccup haddock the third, wouldn't stop till the last breath was taken from me.
