I asked Goren if I could come with him when he went to go talk to his brother again. He said yes on one condition, that I stay in the car and don't come up.

Of course I didn't listen to him. I was worried about him, he could do anything at this point. Hell, if I want to kill Frank I can't imagine what Goren must want to do to him. Oh wait, I can, and that's exactly why I went up stairs.

I hadn't made it all the way up to the 5th floor yet and I could already hear the screaming match, sounded like Goren was winning. Then a thump or two, he must be throwing him around. I creep down the hallway trying to be quiet. Goren is pissed and I don't want to be in the line of fire. I'd like to think that he would never hurt me but rage and desperation can change someone. I don't want to be the straw that broke this camel's back. Besides sounds like Frank is about to be that straw.

It got quiet for a minute as I stood just outside the open door.

Then I heard Frank say it, "Just… you know what? Just take Eames to a motel and get it out of your system."

What?! Is all I was thinking as my jaw hit the floor. I was ready to go guns blazing in that room to kick Frank's ass myself.

"WHAT!? WHAT!?" Goren was shouting at him. At this point I decided I had heard enough and quickly made my way back to the car.

Waiting for Bobby to come back to the car was the longest three minutes of my life. Light flooded outside when he opened the side door we had entered in. The heavy door slammed shut as he came storming back towards the car. He was breathing so hard that it looked like he was exhaling a lung full of smoke every time he exhaled. It was cold outside but I knew it was about to get a lot colder in the car.

He didn't get in the passenger side, this puzzled me, instead he went around and pulled the drivers side open, this startled me.

"What are you doing Bobby?" I took my hands out of my lap and put them on the steering wheel .

"Nothing, I'm driving." He said it calmly, coolly. His breathing was still rapid though as if he hadn't calmed down one bit.

"I-I-I really don't know think…" I stuttered.

"I don't care what you think right now, now would you please move." When he finished I was speechless. He wasn't himself at all. He wasn't even looking me in the face when he told me all of this. He was looking at something down the street, or looking at nothing at all, he just couldn't face me.

A few seconds passed though it felt like 10 minutes, with no more words or fight in me I got out of the drivers seat, ducked underneath the large arm that was braced on the open car door and quietly made my way around to the passengers side.

He was already sitting, buckled and with the engine running by the time I had my door shut.

"Bobby?" I dared to ask.

He didn't answer he just stared straight ahead, not moving. One hand on the wheel the other poised to put the car into gear.

I tried again, "Bobby?"

He seemed to blink this time as if he actually heard me. His breathing wasn't as rapid as before but now he was just taking big deep breaths.

One more try, different approach, not a question."Goren."

His mouth twitched, "Eames?" he said softly, he sounded so small.

"Why aren't we going?"

He didn't speak right away; he furrowed his brow, gripped the steering wheel hard and put the car in drive.

And either he heard my question wrong or I need to clean out my ears but I could have sworn he just said "motel."

To be continued…
