"What did you call us down here for, Joker?"
The kookaburra only continued to grin, the green feathers of its head shining faintly in the light. He had never been the same after that accident with the chemicalsā¦
Waiting for his response, the other rogues that had managed to escape Arkham Zoo, stood and sat and crowded around the old half-fallen tree Jokerburra was perching on. The black cat Selina sat licking her paw, obviously paying minimal attention to what was going on, while Hatterbunny nibbled on a sugar cube that he repeatedly dipped in the saucer in front of him filled with tee.
"I just thought you would all be interested in a littleā¦business proposition." Jokerburra smiled, tilting his head slightly.
"What business proposal?" Riddler, the red fox, frowned.
"Getting rid of the Bat!" Jokerburra flapped down from his perch to join the others on the ground, "Since I can't beat him by myself, I thought you might be able to distract him." Hatterbunny stopped nibbling at the sugar cube, and his nose twitched.
"And why would we do that?" Jonathan Crow asked, perched on the fence just behind all of them. He had better things to do. Selina had already started to leave, and Jokerburra's smile faded slightly.
"We each take a section of the city." Jokerburra explained, then his smile returned, "There's no way Batsy will be able catch us if we all attack at once!" The rogues all glanced at each other; there were seven of them, well, five, since two of them were still in Arkham Zoo.
"And you think that will work?" Riddlerfox questioned, and Hatterbunny glanced at him.
"He'll catch us." He added, and Jokerburra walked towards him and Riddler.
"Just think of it!" Jokerburra replied, gesturing, "There's an explosion on one side of Gotham, and then just as the Bat arrives BAM explosion on the other side!" Jokerburra cackled, and the other rogues seemed to honestly think about it. If the Bat was occupied with others, then they themselves wouldn't be caught, which would mean they would be free to do what they wanted. If they thought he was closing in, they could hide and the Bat would quickly move to another rogue.
"Fine." Riddler was, surprisingly, the first to agree. He simply didn't want to face whatever punishment or torture Jokerburra would cook up if he refused.
"Okay." Selina agreed, walking back over before looking at Jokerburra, "But only if we can rescue Harley." Harley was one of the two still locked in Arkham, the sparrow that was Jokerburra's sidekick as well as his love interest. In all honesty, the love was probably one-sided. Harley would do anything for her 'puddin'. Slowly, all of the other rogues eventually agreed, and Jokerburra's grin widened.
A/N: In case you couldn't guess, the other rogue in Arkham Zoo is Poison Ivy. I couldn't think of an animal for her! I thought: Hmm, maybe she could be a venus fly trap. But no, she has to be an animal. Also, that's my new pet name for Jervis. Hatterbunny.
