pThe air was damp and musky filled with the sound of shops
opening and the smells of baking bread. The once empty streets began to
cramp with t he hustle and bustle of merchants and buys looking for places
to empty there wallets. As the noises grew louder so came the cries of the
newsboys. There shouts echoed over the top of the roofs with loud
boisterous headlines sparking the interest of ongoing suckers. There was
more newsies than usual, the Brooklyn newsies has piled into Manhattan that
day to sell there papes due to the fact that their newspaper building(dont
know the name hehe) was going under new management and needed a day to
get everything in order. As children went to work one stayed behind. In her
small building with her elderly grandparents staring out the window. Her
crystal black eyes showed longing of the kids down below in the warm
sunlight on there own, not tied down to anyone. Unlike her. She wanted a
change, she will get one that she will never expect./p

p"EXTRA EXTRA read all about it! Body found in Brooklyn harbor!"
the young man was quickly surrounded by men and women shoving money
into his hands in exchange for the paper. After the exchange he slipped
away quietly "Suckas" he smiled sauntering his way towards Tibby's slowly.
The bell rang as he strutted into Tibbys a cheeky grin on his face. "Yo Race!"
a young boy yelled with a worn patch covering one of his blue eyes. Race's
smile got wider as he walked slowly towards his friend. "Heya Blink hows it
rollin?" Blink chuckled a bit "Its going good Race, youse havin a good sellin
day cause me and da boys aint doin so good, to many Newises aint good for
buisness. I mean I likes havin dem ova and everything but too many
Newises." Blink took off his moldy cap to wipe the sweat from his brow. The
bell rang again this time more Manhattan and Brooklyn newsies began
pouring into the tiny restaurant taking seats and giving orders. Two boys
say alone in there own booth talking silently. One had a cowboy hat
permanently attached to his neck while the other twirled his cane silently in
between his fingers. "Are youse ready for the big pokah game tonight spot?
The newsie goils are gonna come from the other house in manhattan, maybe
dis time Ise can get youse a girl or sumthin." Spot let out a small chuckle
"Yeah you do dat Cowboy, all dose newsie goils just want to be tough, where
is da strong get beautiful type of goil you hear about so much in dem books
Sara reads?" A cup of water came between the two boys as Cowboy lifted it
up gently to quench his thirst "I dont know Spot" he replied setting the
glass back on the table "Not in new york dats for sure." Spot looked out the
window 'yeah' he thought, he then suddenly snapped out of his daze and put
on a cold face "If you dare tell anyone about dis talk jack ill have all the
Brooklyn and all of the newsies of New York on your ass!" Jack laughed at
his friends seriousness "Aight spot no need to get your panties in a twist"
They spit shook. /p
