Naruto had asked Hinata on a date. Kurenai had told him to treat her right. Now Sakura's telling Naruto how to take a girl out.
"Listen, Naruto," The pink haired girl started, "I want to make sure that you treat Hinata really well on your date. The poor girl deserves to have you actually make an effort to please her. I mean, not only is she really nice, but she's had a crush on you since the first year of the academy. So I want -"
Naruto stopped her cold right there, "Wait, what?"
"She's had a crush on since the first year of the academy. The way she stalked you, and watched you and everything, it's not hard-"
"She stalked me, too?"
By this time Hinata was blushing and silently begging for Sakura to shut up.
"Yeah, she-"
"Then forget it!" Naruto shouted, shocking everyone. "I'm not going out with anyone like that!"
At this, Hinata felt her world crumble, and Kurenai stepped up, glaring at the blonde.
"What the hell? Then what was that bullshit about how you would treat her right?"
"She doesn't deserve it!" Naruto glared full-heartedly at the red-eyed woman.
Everyone gaped at that statement. Kurenai glared back, but Naruto didn't falter when she said, "You have three seconds to take that back."
"Why would I? Since the beginning of the academy FOUR YEARS AGO she has stalked me. She's watched me! I know she's seen me suffer and I know she sure as hell never did one fucking thing about it! If she loved me so much, why didn't she do just one damn thing? All she had to do was say 'Hi' or even just nod at me, and immediately would have went for her!"
"But she was shy and you always liked Sakura." Kurenai defended.
"Love's supposed to conquer all, right? That includes shyness. And I'll let in on a little secret. Everyone in this wretched village hates me and ignores me. I only want to be Hokage so they'll acknowledge me! This is why I would've gone for Hinata! I don't give a fuck about Sakura! I just went for her because I knew that she'd hit me and yell at me! I wanted that because, sad as it is, that's the only acknowledgement I could ever get! The negative kind! Why do you think I pulled all those pranks!? Why do you think I wear blinding orange! I'm a ninja for fuck's sake! I just wanted to be noticed, dammit!
"If Hinata had given me any sort of Attention, I would have liked her as much I like Ichiraku's, the only place that doesn't kick me out right after I enter! As much as I like Iruka-sensei, who was the only teacher to TRY to teach me! Even the Hokage, the only person, I thought, who ever truly CARED FOR ME!"
"I can LITERALLY COUNT ON ONE HAND the number of people in the God-Forsaken village that pay attention to me!
"If Hinata watched me suffer the way I did, and didn't do shit about it! Then there's no way in HELL that I'd go out with her!" When Naruto had successfully shocked everyone in the room, he left.
I think this makes a little more sense…
