"Nothing in my life has ever felt so right" He told her looking in her eyes then forward again at the place he was about to do something that would erase their life together.
Kate bit back a bitter laugh "Nothing in your life has ever felt so right" She repeated
He simply shook his head "I can't go any further with you Jack" She replied
"Kate" He said quietly looking over at her, her eyes were blurred and he knew she was upset
"No, because I've had things that felt so much more right then this" She almost yelled
Jack opened his mouth to speak but she interrupted him "Making love to you for the first time, felt right" She told him "The night you asked me to marry you, the night I said yes felt right Jack!"
She had some tears flowing out of her green eyes and down her freckled cheek, and he had to look away. When he looked back up she turned to walk away
"Kate" He said again, but she didn't stop "Kate wait, please"
Giving up on calling, he jogged over to where she was walking "Kate I wasn't thinking about us" He said when he reached her
She stopped and turned to him, wiping a tear from her face, she said "I know, you rarely are these days"
"That's not fair Kate, there's a lot going on" He tried
"What's not fair Jack" She yelled "Is that I can't stop thinking about it, because for me being in love with you is the only thing in my life that's right"
"And I really don't want to hear that you don't think so, okay" She finished
He touched her hand lightly "It was right Kate" He said with a shy smile "But now there's so much wrong covering it up"
Squeezing his hand "There was not enough wrong for me to want to erase all the good"
"It's a choice you make to remember the good Jack" She continued
He looked at her and seemed to have every emotion you could feel in his eyes, the confusion was clearly present, so Kate took a step towards him, he seemed to be lost inside his head but snapped out of it when he felt her hands and his face, he stared at her, taking in a deep breath, and then her lips were on his, it was slow at first, taking their time to get reacquainted with each other's taste, Jack wrapped his arms around her pulling her closer and deepening the kiss, their tongues danced the familiar dance until oxygen making urgent and they pulled apart, resting their foreheads together, breathing heavily
"Was that right?" Kate breathed out
Jack just nodded before bring his mouth to hers again, and for the first time in a long time they both had the same thought.
Nothing in my life has ever felt so right.
