It was late. And Dr. Archie Hopper had stayed late at his office filling out paperwork. He was exhausted and frankly all he wanted to do was get home and sleep. He walked through the quiet streets at a much faster pace than he normally would. It had been a long day of listening to the problems of the people of Storybrooke. He really did love his job but sometimes it became such a burden to bear the weight of other people's problems. His walk back home did not take long since the town was so small. He reached into his pocket, took out his keys and unlocked the door. A faint light shone from the living room in what was otherwise a dark house. Archie walked into the living room to find his wife of just over 3 years sprawled out on the couch fast asleep, an old episode of Teen Wolf playing on the television. Her hand was sprawled across her stomach, protecting the child that was growing inside. Archie couldn't help but stare and take in the beautiful sight that was before him. For as long as he could remember he had been in love with Ruby Lucas; the girl who wore skirts five sizes to short and had an obsession with the color red. He was so glad he had married her, because now he couldn't imagine his live without her, or their newest addition to their family. He sat down near the sofa and took Ruby's hand that was across her stomach and kissed it lightly. His other hand soothingly rubbed her stomach. He could not believe that in four months, give or take a few days; he was going to be a father to his daughter Abigail. It was a name he picked out meaning "father's joy" and that's exactly what he intended her to be. He would shower her with love and affection. He would care for and protect her and try to provide for her as much as he could. He really hoped that she inherited her mother's dark hair and bright blue eyes and wasn't cursed with his unfortunate looks. Maybe she would inherit his caring, nurturing nature or her mother's spontaneity. As he looked upon his beautiful sleeping wife he smiled, for in that moment he knew that he was looking into his bright and happy future.
