Hello everyone, and welcome to my first attempt at writing a villanelle.
For those of you who have no idea what that is, its a type of poem that has two recurring lines that go in certain places and a certain rhyme on the end of each line. If it sounds complicated to you then you'll have some idea at how much mind power i put into writing it.

Also as i stated before, it was written in my English Writing class, as a part of a collection of poetry we had to hand in, and for all you guys wondering, i got pretty decent marks for it which made me super happy :D

Anyway, that's enough of my waffling, please enjoy, and review if you have any feedback or comments :)

The Lands of Ice and Fire

Will the sun ever cease to rise
over this land of ice and fire
where the cruel winter plots their demise?

Ebony stags defend their prize,
stagnant, as they easily tire.
Will the sun ever cease to rise?

Golden lions watch with wicked eyes
guarding their lands, they carefully conspire
where the cruel winters plot their demise.

In the north fierce dire wolves reside,
'winter is coming,' on lips of the wiser.
Will the sun ever cease to rise?

Across the sea the proud dragon reigns
seeking return to lands of desire
where the cruel winter plots their demise.

Blindly they clash together with lies
as their need for peace grows dire
Will the sun ever cease to rise
Where the cruel winters plot their demise.
