Yeah, this is just something. I had the beginning of it written for a while, but after Sleepover at Sikowitz's I had to do something. Candre! But not a lot in this chapter. Baby steps! Read on now, read on!
"Alright, my blossoming young grasshoppers, don't forget that tomorrow is character day! Remember to meet in the Black Box after school today to get your character. Now trade shoes with someone else in the room. Go!"
Sikowitz finished his normal end-of-class speech before crawling out of the window. The class gave a uniform sigh and started removing their shoes, swpaaing with their friends, and exiting the classroom. Robbie left first with Jade's knee high leather boots on , followed by Tori in Cat's sparkly pink gladiators. Beck slid his feet into Robbie's black Converse and helped cat up, who was struggling to stand in Andre's bulky grey sneakers. Jade swung her bag over her shoulder and left the room in Beck's black boots with unexpected grace, compared to the rest of the students. Andre took one look at Tori's metallic purple ankle boots, shook his head, and followed everyone else out.
They all met up by the stairs. As soon as Beck and Jade walked up Robbie began to beg for his shoes back.
"No!" Jade yelled in his face, and he whimpered. Beck smiled softly and slid the nerdy boy's shoes off, handing them over.
"Man, you're lucky he's so nice to you. Those boots were not your color." Rex added, just as Cat bounced over in Andre's shoes.
"Heyyyy everyone! Look at my shoes!" She laughed, spinning in a circle.
"They're nice, Li'l Red. Can I have them back?" Andre asked gently, not wanting to upset the sensitive girl.
"Poo. Okayyyy." She slid them off dejectedly. "I'll wear Tori's boots!"
"Why don't we all just put our own shoes back on? Sikowitz isn't here!" Tori suggested and returned Cat's sandals. They all got back their shoes and headed off to lunch.
The final bell rang and Sikowitz's fifth period class gathered in the Black Box, chatting amicably amongst themselves. Around five minutes after school ended, the teacher entered the room, holding his signature coconut.
"Are we all here? Excellent. Now, you all have your person's character, right? Jenna, you can go first."
"Isaac will be a cowboy." "That's creative." Sikowitz whispered exaggerratedly. "Miss West! Go!"
"Tori will be a football player." Jade smirked. She wished that they could have picked certain quirks like jelly legs or cereal obbsessions to go with them, but Sikowitz wanted the characters to be as general as possible; who knows why?
"Beck will be a horse jockey." Tori gave hers.
"Cat will be a fortune teller." Beck went next.
"Andre will be a detective." Cat giggled.
"Robbie will be a karate student." Andre added.
"Jade will be a pioneer girl." Robbie finished.
"Good! Those of you who have your characters, leave! The rest of you, continue!" The group grabbed their bags and started to exit, followed by a few other students. When the got to the Asphalt Cafe, they all started talking at once.
"A pioneer girl? Really?" "Better than a karate student!" "Yay! I love fortune tellers!" "How am I supposed to be a detective?" "You think you have it bad? Try being a female football player!" "Horse jockey is cool." They all said at the same time.
"Ugh. I'm leaving. Let's go." Jade scoffed, grabbing Beck's arm and dragging him to her car.
"See you guys later!" Cat called, halfway to her car already. She was super excited for tomorrow and needed to start on her costume right away. Good thing she took that costume making class last semester!
Good beginning? It's just a start, but if it's awfully awful I'll just leave it how it is. I dunno, it's really late, or early I guess. I'm tired. Review? Loves and kisses, Sydney.
