Remus Lupin gets a little drunk for the first time in fifteen years. He has tried avoiding getting completely trashed since the death of James and Lily. They say Sirius had been slightly tipsy on the night of his best friend's death. A bottle of Firewhiskey had kept Sirius company for while, and had ultimately been his downfall. Alcohol always made Sirius mindlessly reckless, and hopelessly giggly. And Remus has tried his hardest not to make the mistake of drunkenness. But tonight, on the eve of Sirius's death, he doesn't really care. A tribute, he proclaims to the pink haired girl beside him. She smiles softly. To see Remus Lupin a little drunk is to see Remus Lupin without restrictions, and Remus Lupin almost always restricts himself. A tribute, she murmurs back as he takes another swig of his bottle. Their eyes meet, and she arches an eyebrow. Tries to come off cool and collected, but Nymphadora Tonks is anything but cool and collected. But he's a little drunk so he doesn't really care. His heart stumbles and speeds up, all at the same time. Suddenly he's unsure, and to see Remus Lupin unsure is a beautiful thing. So she takes his bottle, and sets it aside and crawls forward on his carpet and plants a kiss on his mouth.
And as he wraps his arms around her, he knows he probably shouldn't be doing this, because he'll probably regret it in the morning. But she's beautiful and she makes his heart skip a beat, and he's a little drunk, and this is a tribute to Sirius Black, so he doesn't really care.
I'm not really dure with this came from. Somehow I always get the feeling Remus and Tonks' relationship was borne from a night like this. Anyway.
I will update Stuck in London, but I've been incredibly busy. Tell me what you think of this drabble.
