Lorcan laughed as the rain violently attacked the beautiful glass walls of Ravenclaw Tower. "Don't ever change, Lily." She flipped her sleek auburn hair.

"Everything changes, Lorcan."

"Not you!" I protested.

"Maybe not, but everything else definitely does…" Lily said wistfully. Lorcan put his arm around her shoulder. It was nothing out of the ordinary; they had been best friends since their toddling years.

"Lorcan…" Lily whispered.

"Yeah?" He said softly. She turned to look at him, their faces inches away from one another.

"Have you ever really wanted to tell someone something but were too scared to do so?" His heart skipped a beat. He knew the feeling.

"Like what, exactly?"

"Like…" She paused. "Like how much you really, really love them?"

"If you really love someone, Lily, you have to tell them. I mean, if they're so stupid that they can't see what's so special about you, then they don't deserve you."

Her beautiful deep blue eyes were reflected in his own as she leaned closer and her lips met his. As she pulled away slowly, he could see the worry in her face.

"I'm sorry…I shouldn't have, I know I shouldn't have, that was stupi-" Lorcan stopped her by firmly pressing his mouth to hers. She held herself to him for as long as she could before pulling away, her eyes reflecting the sun even in the middle of a dark, rainy night.

"James is going to give me hell for this." Lorcan whispered. Lily laughed quietly, resembling the sound of bells. Lorcan had always thought that when fairies sang, it had to sound just like this. Just like Lily's laugh, helping him to recognize the beauty of a storming night, the wonder in the cold water dribbling down the glass.

Because here, with Lily's head on his shoulder and his head on Lily's, he knew that no matter what changed in the future or what had changed in the past, his love for Lily would never falter, not for a moment. Here, he was at peace.
