Song Credits:Nightwish "Angel's Fall First"
Pairing: Zhuge/Ying/…sort of
A/N: I found the song in one of my folders and got the idea for this after listened to it. This is the first songfic I've wrote so go easy on me…..please.
An angel face smiles to me
Under a headline of
tragedy
That smile used to give me warmth
Farewell - no words
to say
beside the cross on your grave
and those forever burning
candles
It all happened so quickly. She had just spoken to him the night before, she told him she felt uneasy about the next battle, but he brushed it off saying she just needed rest herself. He held her close telling her nothing was going to happen, everything was going to be all right. She knew that wasn't true, she knew something bad was going to happen. She begged him to let her go with him but refused saying she was needed at the main camp.
Needed elsewhere
to remind us of the shortness
of our time
Tears laid for them
Tears of love, tears of
fear
Bury my dreams, dig up my sorrows
Oh, Lord why
the
angels fall first
She watched the soldiers and generals return with their heads hung low, they had lost. Panic began to seize her when she couldn't find her husband's face in the crowd. She pushed through the soldiers desperately calling his name. Strong arms wrapped around her and pulled her back against a firm chest. She barely recognized the voice when Jiang Wei spoke.
"He's gone, Lady Huang….he's gone…"
She froze as the words sunk in. Her husband was dead and she wasn't there to help him.
Not relieved by thougts of Shangri-La
Nor
enlightened by lessons of Christ
I'll never understand the meaning
of the right
Ignorance lead me into the light
She didn't know how long she cried into her friend's tunic, but at that time she didn't really care. Her husband was dead and Jiang's reassurances that he had gone to a better place did little to comfort her. When she had composed herself enough to look up the rest of the generals and soldiers were still standing there with tears in their own eyes. She dreaded what she was going to have to do next. How do you tell your son that his daddy won't be there to take him fishing or for his next birthday?

That moment came all to soon as she caught sight of her son running between the soldiers to her. She kneeled down and drew him into a hug as she tried to force back her tears. How was she going to do this? She pulled back and looked into her son's eyes as tears filled her own once again.
"Zhan, there's something I need to tell you…"
Sing me a song
of your beauty
of your
kingdom
Let the melodies of your harps
caress those whom we
still need
Yesterday we shook hands
My friend
Today a
moonbeam lightens my path
My guardian
It had been a week since news of her husband's death had been brought to her and every morning she awoke alone was just as painful as the last. Zhan was handling it better than her it seemed. She walked out under the cherry trees where they used to sit for hours just talking. It didn't matter what about so long as they were together. Now it was just her as she sat under one of the trees and closed her eyes. A small smile crossed her lips as she listened to the wind faintly whistle through the trees so much like his flute had done so many days before. He was gone but he'd always live on in her and their son's hearts and he'd always be loved.
