His parents had attempted to keep him sheltered, they wanted him to grow up like any other young boy, but they knew it couldn't last forever. He stumbled across it right after his eleventh birthday. He had been ecstatic to receive his Hogwarts letter, causing a ruckus around the whole house. Every morning he would set his alarm and wake up before the others in the house so he could sneak into the family library and fill his curiosity on spells and potions and so much more. He was a avid reader and soon decided to venture onto something new- the books in his Father's study. That was when he accidently opened one of his late grand fathers books.
Later that morning he got "the talk." No, not the one that you would expect, one unlike any other young boys, a more complicated one.
Since he was old enough to understand, he had been told that his father had made a mistake in the past. That he hadn't been brave enough, and that many peoples till remembered it. But on that day for the first time in his life he truly understood. He understood why he got stared at when he wrote his full name or when his father picked him up from the park. At first he was confused, he didn't understand how this was possible. Then he was hurt to know his family was associated with such things.
He went through a whirlwind of emotions in the span of a few hours, his mind constantly changing and his facial expressions turning into a blur before his parent's eyes. He went through phases of anger to embarrassment but that all stopped the moment he saw the regret in his father's eyes. This was the same man that tucked me into bed at night, who pretended he was Father Christmas and got a twinkle in his eye every time his mother wore that red dress. In that split second his emotions changed. And to this day all he felt was pride.
So his father got scared and made a mistake! He made decisions for his family at the time and continued to live by that motto to this day. Everything else however had changed a full 360 since the fall of Voldemort, yet he still faced the humiliation and glares every single day of his life. It was hard enough to find the motivation to keep going in a lifestyle like that, yet he did! His Father was the hardest working man he knew, and he knew that Father worked this hard so that he could have a best life.
Scorpius was proud of his father and for his, Draco was proud of his son.
