"JANE!" Alec yelled his voice bouncing off the dark walls of the Volturi's manor, 'I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE!"
His footsteps padded softly on the dark red carpet, his shadow illuminated by the torches hanging on the walls beside paintings and tapestries. The tapestries showed scenes from King Arthur and the Knights of Camelot and several biblical events as well. Alec's favorite so far was the scene in where Sir Lancelot had bravely fought for Queen Guinevere. Alec loved King Arthur. His mother had read that book to him as a human child. Jane, however, had no patience for such things.
'Those are pure lies Alec,' she would scoff whenever she caught him reading about King Arthur again, 'Those are just tales made up to read to little children'
'Oh shut up' Alec would say and would playfully throw a pillow at her which she would easily catch. With another roll of her eyes, she would finally leave him alone to read his favorite book in peace. But she would come again minutes later to let him know that another envoy of humans had been fished by Heidi and leaving his book, he would feed.
Alec heard a soft giggle and suddenly, Jane was beside him. Her brown hair rested just below her shoulders and her red eyes were big and bright. She flashed him a smile, showing her white even teeth and grabbed his hand.
"You're loosing your edge, brother" she said grinning at him playfully, "You can't catch me!"
With that, she ran again this time Alec hot on her heels. Alec was grinning as they sped through the corridors and hallways of the manor. Their laughter echoed and their clothes flew out behind them. They were alone in the mansion. The other members of the Volturi were feeding down below in the feeding room. Alec and Jane had fed earlier and therefore, they were full.
"YOU CAN'T CATCH ME!" Jane taunted her brother
"YES I CAN!" Alec yelled back. He put on another burst of speed and lunged, catching his sister and toppling on the floor at the same time. Alec rolled over so that he was on top of Jane. He bared his fangs, grinning at her.
"Surrender" he said in a low voice
Jane chuckled. "I have"
From behind them, somebody cleared their throat. The twins looked behind them and saw Aro, his robes swirling around him and his crimson eyes full of fury. Fury for the twins. Fury for the way they were acting.
"Repulsive" he snarled "Monstrous behavior! How are we to form a better civilization for vampires when my own guard cannot even control themselves?"
Alec and Jane jumped to their feet. "Master, please forgive us" they said their heads bowed
"I cannot have my guard acting like...like...human children!" Aro continued to hiss
Caius intervened. "Peace brother" he said raising his hand
Aro swatted his hand away. "Get out of my sight" his voice full of contempt and anger
The twins bowed their heads again and turned around, walking towards their rooms. They did not look at each other. They did not smile. They did not play the game they had been playing a while ago. They both knew that it was wrong.
It was wrong in the Volturi to be a child...but how could they pretend to be adults when in their hearts...
...all the Terror Twins had ever wanted were to be children again...
I know...it sucked, right? xDDD
