"Luce!" Natsu yelled.
"What?" Lucy yelled back.
"Can I borrow you for a moment?"
"I'm mid set!" Lucy complained. It had taken Natsu a long time to persuade her to join the gym, but once she had, she'd caught the bug. Now, interrupting her mid-set was a crime punishable by death or a weight to the face.
"Okay, end of that set come over here," Natsu called.
Lucy sighed, what on earth was he doing? Lucy had yet to move up to the really heavy weights and so usually hung around the smaller hand weights. She only went into the heavy weights section to squat.
Once she'd finished her set, Lucy downed the rest of her water bottle and walked around to where she knew Natsu would be.
But he was not where she expected him to be. At least, not exactly. Normally, Natsu would be using the heavy weights or on the bench press or something. But today he had monopolised the pull-up bar and wasn't exactly using it how Lucy had been taught.
"Natsu, what the hell are you doing?"
"Being Spiderman of course," he replied as he hung upside down from it. "Now I just need to borrow you for a moment."
"To do what? You never need my help," Lucy said. "Why don't you ask Gray? I mean if this is anything heavy I can't exactly help you."
"I am not asking Gray for help with this. He'd think i was a loser and…" Natsu shuddered.
"You are a loser," Lucy teased. "A sweaty one at that."
"Thanks, Luce," Natsu muttered. "Are you gonna help or what?"
"Okay, okay," she relented. "What do you want me to do?"
"I just need you to come and stand here," he said as he pointed to the floor.
"Your face is very red Natsu, how long have you been hanging like that?"
"Not that long, I'm fine," he said. "Now hurry up."
Lucy sighed and walked over to where he was pointing.
"What's this about?"
"Halloween of course," Natsu said with a grin.
"Right…" Lucy sounded sceptic.
"I'm being Spiderman," Natsu told her.
"Because the theme is superheroes and villains," Lucy said. "That would make sense. What does this have to do with interrupting my workout?"
"Well, I need to practice being the right height, duh."
"Right height for what?" Lucy asked.
"Have you seen Spiderman?"
"I've definitely seen one of them," Lucy said. "Not sure which one."
Natsu sighed dramatically.
"Never mind, all you have to do is stand there," he said finally.
Lucy did as she was told as Natsu fiddled on the bar. He was manoeuvring his body about as if trying to get comfortable.
"Wow, you really are short huh," he commented.
"Hey! I'm not as short as Levy," Lucy protested.
"Could you move forwards a bit?"
"What?" Lucy was taken off guard.
"Just like an inch or two."
Lucy complied. She felt slightly ridiculous just standing there.
Next thing she knew, Natsu was hanging down in front of her face, holding on to the pull-up bars with only one hand and his feet.
"How on earth…?" Lucy began.
"Perfect," Natsu said with a grin.
"What's perfect? You look like you're about to fall down!"
"You're perfect," Natsu replied. "I mean, perfect height and distance. Thank you for that!"
He was about to pull himself back up, but Lucy stopped him.
"What's this about Natsu?"
"You'll see!"
Lucy sighed and returned to her workout.
And she did see. The following week at the Halloween party when Natsu swooped down from the pull-up bar the boys had set up. He kissed her lightly on the lips-
And promptly fell off the bar when Lucy kissed him back.
Author's note: It's short but I hope you all like it! This is another thing I found in my "unfinished" folder that I thought I ought to finish off! Please review :)
