A/N: YES! I feel so accomplished I finally wrote something worth posting. This is for that guy who I'm afraid to hug because his back and shoulder bother him and the guy that I'm afraid to love because he's loved the same girl for three years and just broke up with her two months ago. R&R please.
They had been having their coffee dates in muggle London for about two months now…though they insisted very strongly that they weren't "dates." But yet again George Weasley and Katie Bell are two very stubborn people.
The war was over…it had been for two months now. And here they were sitting in his flat drinking what he calls extremely over-priced coffee, also known as Starbucks. She's sitting in the window seat and as always was looking out over the streets below. She sees Draco and Ginny running with intertwined hands trying to seek shelter from the storm but doesn't tell him, knowing he'll just get angry. They haven't talked yet, both too caught up in their own worlds.
She's startled when his warm hand touched her shoulder. "Kates, do you want to talk or no?" George asked. She takes a breath and nods her head yes. They've never talked about their past relationships before so its uncharted territory that they're sailing into.
He sits down in that stupid…yet extremely comfortable two-person papasan chair that they bought in some muggle store.
"I've never had a boyfriend before," she said. A loud clap of thunder that makes the windowpanes shake interrupts the silence.
"Impossible guys must flock to you in crowds, you've got so much to offer," he replied.
"Nope and maybe I'm just scared to open myself to love because I've been hurt so much in the past…and because the guy I love likes some other girl."
"And who might this guy be?"
She looked up at him and whispered, "You."
George reached across the chair and pulled Katie over to him. She rested between his legs with her head lying on his chest.
"Am I hurting you?" she asked, referring to the back/shoulder problems he's had since the war.
"No, now shush. That girl has always been you and always will be you. Katie Bell, I love you."
George gently brushed his lips over Katie's and then rested his chin on her head. She sighed contently and he summoned a blanket over to them as the lights flickered off.
