He was known by many names. Kaitou KID, Criminal Number 1412, Phantom Thief 1412, Moonlight Illusionist, Magician of the Silver Sky, Last Wizard of the Century, etc., etc., etc. Regardless of the name, he was adored by millions. Police hated him, crowds loved him, and creepy men in black cloaks were out to kill him. But, black coats aside; even the police couldn't completely hate him. He was an irritation and he loved to flaunt his talents in their face, but he could've been a lot worse. He kept property damage to a minimum and returned everything he stole. But above all else, "No one gets hurt," that's his cardinal rule.
The thief was a showman. He always kept you guessing. With him, it was dangerous to even expect something; he might actually do it!
So, with all those billions of fans, why is it that only a few people actually know what happened?
Kaitou KID was actually a young man, still in high school when he first began. His quest for revenge turned into a battle for justice. And Kid, the wondrous thief Kid, lost to a thief even better than he. Only this thief never returned its prizes.
Kid completed his quest, but he couldn't win at everything. At 2:47:59, the Kaitou Kid was declared dead by me, Hakuba Saguru, a detective that's honored to say he knew at least some of the real Kid.
Sayonara, Kaitou Kid.
Sayonara, Kuroba Kaito.
Rest in Peace.
