'YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A CONCIETED IDIOT', Summers' voice ran through the school of rocks HQ.
'YOU ARE A BITCH', Freddy's' reply was sharp and swift.
'WHY CAN'T YOU JUST OBEY THE LAW FOR ONCE? THIS IS THE FIFTH TIME I'VE HAD TO COME GET YOU AND IM SICK OF IT!'
'YOUR NOT OBLIDGED TO COME AND GET ME YOU STUCK UP SNOB!' Freddy felt a feeling of slight guilt inside when Summer looked at him with tears in her accusing eyes.
'And to think that I thought of you as my friend. Never talk to me again Freddy Jones'. Summer turned on her heel and walked out the door, her back straight.
Freddy threw a beer bottle at the wall, 'fuck' he breathed out before taking off after Summer.
He drove to her home and knocked on her door; her mother answered and said that she wasn't home yet. Shit. He had to think like Summer would. He checked the library, the mall, the music store, the beach, the usual pub where they played, the book store, her favourite coffee shop and even the councils office where she worked on weekdays after school. He even called Katie to ask her if she knew where summer was. Katie didn't answer so Freddy assumed she was with Zack. Making out. Having sex. Whatever those two did together. Freddy left summer even more voicemails and decided to go to a bottle-o and pick up a bottle of Jacks and drove to his flat.
Freddy had left his home after his father kicked him out. He went to live with Dewey and Rosalie, or as she was more commonly known amongst the band, Principle Mullins. He had lived with them for three months before finally moving into an apartment of his own. During that time Summer had been a good friend, helping him get a job and sort through everything that had happened. She was his rock and best friend.
He pulled up out front of his apartment and seen Summer sitting on the steps, her arms hugging her legs and her head resting on her knees. Freddy locked his car and walked over to where she was sitting he pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit one up, before offering one to Summer. Surprisingly she took one. She inhaled deeply, drawing the smoke into her lungs, coughing a little as she did, her throat not being used to it. They sat in silence smoking. When they stamped out the cigarettes Freddy helped her up and led her to his apartment. He sat on the couch and she sat down next to him, snuggling up to him and resting her head on his shoulders.
'I'm sorry', he whispered into her hair, 'your my best mate Summer, I'm so sorry that I can't be a better friend to you, like you deserve me too be'.
She didn't say anything; she just sighed and sniffled into his shirt; taking comfort in his hand running up and down her arm and the other one stroking her hair whilst his head rested gently on hers. They stayed there for a while.
Finally Summer moved. She gently pulled from his grip and sat close to him on the couch. 'Did you really mean all those things about me?' she started, refusing to meet his eyes, 'because when people get angry, the endorphins released in their brains makes them tell the truth or some shit', she rambled. Freddy waited until she finally looked him in the eyes again, 'I was angry, but truthfully sometimes you can be, but those infuriating parts of you are the ones I love', he told her quietly.
She was about to say something else but then she looked shocked. 'Did you just say that you love me?' instead of replying Freddy gently kissed her on her lips. When they pulled away, she looked at him, shock in her eyes before they kissed again. This one more forceful than the other.
'Do you wanna go grab something to eat?' Freddy asked her. She nodded whilst she straightened her clothes and fixed her hair and touched up her make-up.
They went to a Chinese restaurant. Freddy had black soy bean beef and vegetables, Summer stuck with a vegetarian Laksa soup. Freddy drove her home after wards, promising that he would be back the next day.
