Hana sat silently in her apartment, looking out at the dreary city as the rain threw itself down from on high in suicidal blasts, upon the pavement below. This is how life was here. Rain, rain, and more rain. It was the heavens letting lose what had dried up in her long past. She herself had once been a terrible thunderstorm, droplets flying from her clouded eyes, drenching all. But that time was long past. Now, only the heavens cried.
The door clicked open and a chestnut haired woman, poked her head into the room slowly, a small basket in her hands. Hana continued to stare out the window. She was of the living... no concern of hers.
The woman let the door swing open as she stepped through it. "Hello there, Hana, dear."
She remained silent.
The woman gave a sigh and walked into the kitchen to set the basket on the small table there. She grabbed the chair sitting by it looking as if someone had just gotten up. She carried it gently into the other room and placed it beside Hana's. Hana continued to stare at the rain.
"You don't have to come, Kiyoko." She murmured.
Kiyoko gave a strained laugh. "Of course I did! You look like you haven't eaten in days! I swear if I didn't come check up on you every now and again you would never see another soul! You really should come out our house. Meet Piro and Erika... Alpho-"
"I can't."
Kiyoko sighed once more. "Not this again. Hana, it's not healthy to just stay locked away on your own like this!"
Hana tore her eyes away from the window fro the first time, her face pale and expressionless. "I can't." she repeated in a husky monotone.
"Alright. Fine, but I'm making you dinner..." Kiyoko stood, and as she did the chair scraped backwards.
Hana blinked and seemed to come out of her trance for a moment. She turned to look at Kiyoko with knowing eyes, then spotted the chair and a look of horror seeped onto her face. "You... you... you MOVED IT!" she screamed jumping to her feet in alarm. Kiyoko took a surprised step back, caught off guard by her sudden and violent reaction.
"YOU MOVEN HIS CHAIR! THAT'S WHERE HE WAS SITTING! THAT IS WHERE HE LEFT FROM! THAT WAS HIS!" She grabbed the collar of her friends dress, and pushed her roughly against the wall, nearly knocking over her light stand. Kiyoko's eyes were fearful as Hana continued screaming.
"HOW COULD YOU! NOW HE'S GONE! NOW HE CAN'T COME BACK!" Hana's eyes were wild, her mouth spewing spit as her rage and feeling poured out like the rain outside. "HE'S GONE! HE'S GONE! He's gone! He's gone! He's..." slowly she loosened her grip and let her head fall forward onto her the shoulder of her petrified friend. Her august colored hair fell loosely around her face, hiding her features. She dropped her arms slowly as all energy seemed to drain from her.
Kiyoko wrapped her arms gently around her as she moaned in agony.
And the rain continued.
