Never grow up.
Her breath was shaky, as she tried to cover up her tears. But, her eyes gave her away. He didn't know what had happened to make her so upset. It was the night of my Graduation from Hogwarts, and Ginny had seemed to be tense all week.
"Ginny, what's wrong?" I told her sweetly, "Did someone hurt you?"
"I don't-"she stopped trying to keep her voice steady. "I don't want you to leave."
"Hey, it'll be alright, I'll come visit you all the time." I told her smiling.
"Everything's going to change, is it?" Her voice was soft, and quiet as a whisper.
"Yes, but it's going to be okay, Ginny. I promise."
"No it's not. It's already getting worse, and this," she said taking my left forearm and pulling up my sleeve, showing the mark. "This, doesn't mean everything is going to be okay."
"Gin, you already know I'm joining the Order." I told her, taking her hand off my arm, pulling down the sleeve, and putting my fingers under her chin and moved her face to look at me.
"Everything's changing…everything's…" she said, bursting into tears. "I don't want everything to change.I don't want you to leave me." I took her in my arms, and she dug her nails into my back, to try to stop her tears. It didn't hurt though, and I was used to it.
"I'm not, Ginny. You know that I would never leave you."
"Draco…"
"Yes?" I asked, knowing she couldn't think of the words to say.
"If you promise to not die, I promise I won't." She said stiffly, I let her go, and toke her hands in mine. I knew what she was talking about, the war.
"You're not going to die, Ginny Weasley."
"What about you? You can't die. You won't die." She said, taking a deep breath. "If you die, I'll kill you."
"But, I would already be dead, silly goose." I said laughing. She hit my arm playfully and laughed with me.
"No you wouldn't because, you are not dying."
"Oh right, I'm not allowed to die."
She was silent for a while, staring at our hands clasped together. She became serious again as she let go of my hands, and I did the same. She turned away from me, and I could see that she had her head in her hands. I frowned, she was crying again.
"Ginny?"
"I'm sorry…it's just.."
"Just what?" I said putting my arm around her, and she put her head on my chest.
"I don't want to grow up."
"Me either, Ginny."
"Never grow up, Malfoy." She said, looking into my eyes.
"You never grow up either, Weasley."
"I'll try." She said, her voice shaking. She was scared, scared of growing up. And, then I realized, I was too.
