A/N: Well, here I go again. Another ficlet. I have no idea where it all comes from, you know. I've been listening to this one song by a band called The Script, and the first verse caught on an idea that's been flapping around in my head for ages. Those of you who've heard of The Script, you'll kknow that the song is called Breakeven. I'm grabbing a few of my own characters from one of my past stories that I posted... Somewhere else on the internet (I forgot the internet address of where I put it XD).
Disclaimer: I own everything, and y'all can't do nothing about it. Hahahahahaha... I love you guys.
She lay there, dark brown hair fanning out around her, while she watched them kill him. A simple silver-tipped stake through the heart. Nothing big, nothing ugly, but just as hard to deal with. His violet blood seeped across the floor, filling the craks in the terracotta tiles. A sharp, stinging pain in her neck notified her that she had been wounded too, but it really didn't register in her mind as she crawled over to her love, who lay just a few feet away from her.
"Jasper.... Oh my God, Jasper..." she whispered. She was barely breathing now, as her dark red blood mixed with his to form a deep, rich maroon colour. She knew she was fading, and fading fast, but she welcomed oblivion, if it meant she could stay with him.
Sadness pierced her heart, as she remembered times when he had laughed. She remembered how his eyes used to crinkle up when he smiled, like cardboard.
Patches of darkness blotted out parts of her vision, and she felt a wave of weakness settle over her. He had told her to stay at the house. She was just getting ready to ring him when the came for her.
The old ones. The evil vampires. They killed to feed, and they fed frequently, for they were greedy after fourteen-hundred years of living.
Her arms gave out, and she fell to the floor. Tears streamed down her face and mixed with the blood that had accumulated on the ground. She wished they had never gone to Maryport. She wished that Anna hadn't walked out. She wished that Edward wasn't so damn stupid. Her heart was broken, and his was mutilated, and she was dying and he was dead. Thanks to Anna's leaving. Elena had blocked Alexa's visions of the future, and Jacob had almost died when he was attacked by the demons.
'Stupid life,' she thought as she drifted. 'Why do we have to live it? It only brings us pain and grief...'
How she wanted to sleep... She closed her eyes, and Jasper's smiling face greeted her. Finally, she drew her last breath, and fell limp, as her eyes rolled into the back of her head.
A/N: So, I thought I'd do a little Allyana/Jasper crap to keep y'all on your toes while you're waiting for the first PROPER installment of The Coven. Don't worry, You'll meet Allyana and Jasper and Anna and Edward and Elena and Jacob and Alexa soon. And the Old Ones. But patience is a virtue, and I relish in virtues. Tell me if you like or not.
