Friendship Knows No Boundaries
the fox pup runs with the hound puppy
both not realizing that in due time these friends will part
up under logs and into rivers
they promise to always be friends forever
one day the hound leaves during the white season to hunt
the fox left to wait for his friend to return
long nights and short days pass
until at last in the spring, the hound returns
the fox goes to play with the hound
but the hound rejects and tells the fox to run
run far away for the chief dog will attack
and the hunter will shoot to kill
then the chief sees the fox and barks his warning
and the hunter rushes out with his rifle
the fox runs away, the hunter and his dogs after him
running far away to a track where trains run freely
the chief carelessly gets hit by the oncoming train
and falls in the river where the hound mourns
he spots the fox running away
and now the hound's heart seeks revenge
the hound tracks down the fox
but a bear interferes with the hunter
the fox runs to attack the bear
and him and the hound fight it off
but now the hound is faced with a choice
to step out of the way for the hunter to shoot
or to step up to save the fox
the time is running out for the hound to choose
the fox closes his eyes, expecting death
but the hound steps up and motions for the hunter to leave
as the hound and fox go their separate ways
they both remember, they'll always be friends forever.
