Authors note: Hello people! This came to me when listening to music :)
Disclaimer: I don't own OHSHC or Safer to hate her ^_^
Kyoya Ootori sat in his bedroom; his stereo was blasting music from his iPod. He had a problem. A problem he couldn't solve. His problem was that certain cross-dresser, Haruhi Fujioka. He didn't know how to deal with his feelings for her, he long ago figured out he loved her, but his father, his family; what would they think? Haruhi's a commoner, his father would never approve.
He put the song on replay and fell asleep, thinking of big brown eyes.
Too much, too much is never enough
I had you and I gave you up.
No idea where my mind was for months
I woke up, I cashed in on all of my luck,
Walked hand in hand with your trust.
And everybody was kissing fire,
And we all got burnt.
"Kyoya-senpai, where do you want me to put this box?" Haruhi asked him with those big brown doe eyes.
"Just put it over there, Haruhi."
"Hey senpai, wanna go to the library after club? I don't get some of the material in Geometry."
He wanted to say yes, he wanted to say he would love to go with her, anywhere, as long as he was with her, but he remembered the vow he made to himself.
It'd be safer to hate her
Than to love her and lose her.
It'd be safer to hate her all around.
Kyoya pushed up his glasses, "No thanks Haruhi, I have a very busy schedule, why don't you ask Tamaki?" he hid the pain behind those words; he knew Tamaki was also in love with her, everyone did, even though Tamaki himself didn't know.
She shrugged, "Ok."
Caught you having a laugh,
Did you catch me have the last?
I've been smiling like this for days,
Just to make up for my mistakes.
In the dark, I watch everyone disappear,
And I am beginning to let myself down.
I am pushing everyone that was in, out.
Kyoya pinned Haruhi down to the bed, "Do you really think a person's sex doesn't matter? You are completely defenseless against me."
"You won't do it Kyoya-senpai, I know, because there's nothing for you to gain."
Nothing to gain? Does she really think that? There are so many things I could gain. He thought to himself.
It'd be safer to hate her,
Than to love her and lose her.
It'd be safer to hate her all around.
He chuckled and let her up, putting his glasses back on. How he wanted to keep going, to make her realize how much he loves her, but he couldn't.
And nobody knows what it's like
To live and die on the inside.
And nobody knows what it's like
To be one of a kind.
Kyoya watched in amazement as Haruhi yelled at his father, no one has ever done that before and her words touched his heart.
"Kyoya-senpai is amazing! He handles this club financially all by himself!"
When we die do we feel alive?
"Hey Kyoya… I think I love Haruhi."
Shock. That was all he felt. He knew Tamaki loved Haruhi, but he never thought the blond idiot would realize it.
Kyoya tilted his head so the light would glint off his glasses, "That's great Tamaki."
When we die do we feel alive?
He watched as Tamaki and Haruhi kissed, it was their wedding day, everyone was so happy and smiling, congratulating the newlyweds. Kyoya just smiled and tilted his head so the glint would cover up the fact he was on the verge of tears. He had lost his chance, he had lost her.
It'd be safer to hate her,
Than to love her and lose her.
It'd be safer to hater her all around
And nobody knows what it's like
To live and die on the inside.
And nobody knows.
I love you Haruhi…
