~ Prologue ~ In ancient Ireland, before the doys of cars, phones, and computers; in a time of magic, chivalry, and castles, there was a town, just budding, by the name of An Rinn. An Rinn was a very special town, for it held the bery heart of the magic ing Ireland, the Royal family of faeries. Upon the faerie mound a man had built a cottage for his wife and newborn babe. The babe's name was Gwen. Chapter 1: The Meeting ~17 years later~
"Gwen!" The girl in question lifted her head to the source of the bellow, "Quit your daydreamin' git inside an' fix me dinner!" Rolling her eyes at her brute of a father's back Gwen stood and retrieved her mending basket which she had thrown behind the rock she had been sitting on in the garden.
"Aye, Da" Gwen Duitifuly replied. "Sometimes," she said quitely to herself as she walked to the kitchen, "I wonder if himself in there would perish for liftin' a finger t' make his own dinner."

At that very moment, deep inside the land under the cottage, a son, a faerie son, was devising ways to murder his parents, and wondering if it was worth the wrath of the Law.
"No, its not worth it." Carrick, the prince of the faeries said to no one in particualr. "But if they give me one more lecture on the duties of a prince, I'm goin' t' kill 'em." With that he disappeared to the grove of trees he frequently haunted.

"Iffin' thats enough for ye Da, I'm goin ta take a walk." Gwen stood up from the table with an imploring look on her face.
"Na, I'm thinkin' that I'm through. Go on with ye now. Where ya headed?" Aidan asked her.
"To the Grove!" She called over her shoulder as she disapeared around the corner of the house.

"Ooch, and who is that now that disturbs me?" Carrick asked of himself while he roused himself to listen to Gwens song. He took a look from behind the bush he was sitting near and watched Gwen sit among the wildflowers and sing softly to herself. A very sad, sweet song, he thought, one meant for a lover.
"When I'm alone in the night, and the moon sheds it's tears, I know my world would come right only if you were here. Without you, my heart is empty of all but the memories it keeps. You, only you, stay inside me in the night, while the moon weeps."
As Carrick listened to her sing he walked slowly up behind her, trying to get a good look at the person that could possess such a lovely voice. At that moment he stepped on a twig. Hearing the sound, Gwen ubruptly stopped singing and swung around looking at Carrick suspiciously.
"Who are you, and what buisness do ye have sneaken up on me? Are ye tryin' to scare me t' death?"
