Journal Entry 485 – Testimonial
"Four years . . . it's been four years since the Pyrrhic end of operation Pitfall. Four years since the end of the Kaiju War. Things changed, they didn't go back to the way things were before. Political battles and wars for power broke out all over the planet.
Changes were made, corrupt World leaders were replaced. The World order was shifted. But peace was not achieved.
The Mariana's Sensor Array, an elaborate system of motion trackers and radar terminals created to monitor movement in Challenger Deep had been dismantled and moved to Guam for storage.
The Jaeger Program, humanity's greatest defense against the Kaiju had descended into a research division in robot technology and alien biology.
We became complacent. We became arrogant, we became venerable.
It made land fall in Davao – Kirawa, a Category II Kaiju came through the Breach and swam straight to the Philippines unnoticed and unopposed.
When the news feeds first came in, there was panic, despair. . And anger.
But the Pans Pacific Defense Corps wasn't exactly caught with its pants down. Our forces rallied and strike teams were deployed. . .
After the failure of the Anti-Kaiju wall in 2025 the Worlds new leaders ordered that there be a minimum of two active Jaegers posted in the countries closest to the Breach.
A new strategy was put forward and Kirawa was put down faster than it could see where the Jaeger came from. This newest attack set in motion a chain of events that launched the world into its second Kaiju War. . . .
