"Silence! You are nothing but a fool! Now answer my questions!"

Although they were rare, Luke always made sure to catch Franziska when she smiled.

4. Death

"I've...been giving the Death Penalty...haven't I?" "...Yes..."

5. Wonder

Luke wondered why Franziska von Karma, a famous prosecutor in Germany, would come and visit him of all people. Of course, he didn't bother asking...

6. Famous

"For a fool, you're quite famous, I'd say. Even up in Germany, we've heard of you, 'Ace Detective' Atmey..." Franziska said with flushed cheeks. Deep in his heart, Luke knew this wasn't true. She was just lying for him.

7. Nose

Whenever Franziska stopped by to visit Luke Atmey, she always thought, 'What's wrong with his nose?'

8. Over

It took a while for it all to sink in, but after Franziska finished explaining why she came back to the U.S. in the first place, Luke asked, "So...it's all over for me, huh? And you, too. You have nothing else to do now, huh? Besides trying to prove evil, guilty people like me innocent? Great life..."

9. Look

"Please stop looking at me like that...it makes me sad..."

10. Love

Luke knew it was not only wrong considering the age difference, but he was about to be put to death a few months from now. Yet...he couldn't help but feel he's fallen in love with that whip-carrying goddess.

11. Knowledge

Franziska felt herself shaking as she asked, "Do you...really want to know why I come and visit you of all people?"

12. Answer

Franziska covered her face in her hands and started to tremble. "It's because..." she quietly said to a shocked Luke, "I saw a picture of you in one of Wright's files...and I think...I think I might have had fallen in love..."

13. Lies

Luke Atmey's face fell as he muttered, "It would have been best...if you had just lied to me instead...Franziska..."

14. Wrong

Franziska wiped the tears from her eyes as she wept. "I know I fell in love too easily, too quickly...and with someone I hardly even know. God...I don't know what to do anymore..."

15. Happy

As she left the jail and Luke Atmey behind, Franziska felt faintly happy about finally getting her feelings off her chest.

16. Sleep

That night, Luke Atmey couldn't get a wink of sleep. He just kept thinking of HER...

17. Time

Luke Atmey knew it was finally time, long before the security officer walked in and fetched him off to the electric chair...

18. Crime

'I had lied in court...I had stolen precious artifacts...and I have commited the sin of taking another's life. The only thing I had left in my life was...Franziska...'

19. Tears

On that day, Franziska just laid in bed, crying her eyes out.

20. End

As he was strapped into the chair, Luke closed his eyes and whispered, "Goodbye...Franziska...You are the foolish...and I...am the Zvarri..." And...the switch was activated.

A/N: I am not exactly happy with this fic. It went kind of fast, major OOCness was involved, and the pairing is cracky. Still...Luke rules!
