Disclaimer: I wish I owned this, but I don't. I owe this to my old teachers for the knowledge and all the other stuff belongs to other people.

AN: I did this for fun. It will probably be not that great, because I was trying to cram in all my first-aid knowledge (ie, nothing much). Anyway, enjoy!

He felt it hit him from behind like a punch, but harder. The breath was knocked out of him as he fell to the ground, pain spreading throughout his body. Vaguely, he registered someone shaking him and a voice, "Can you hear me? Open your eyes! What's your name? Squeeze my hands!"

He tried to respond, but was quickly losing consciousness and didn't have enough energy.

"A...Alex..." he coughed out, and the blackness overcame him.

She was the first on the scene. She had been coming home from work, when she had noticed a boy fall to the ground as though he had been hit by something hard. She rushed over to him, noting that his skin was slowly losing its colour. There were no major injuries at first glance, so she looked around for any danger, remembering her first aid lessons from school. Next came response; shaking him and talking to him, using the abbreviation 'C.O.W.S.' as a guide.

She was growing worried when he didn't respond at first, but then she heard his faint voice, "A...Alex..." and his eyes closed.

In the distance, she heard sirens and felt herself sag with relief. One of the bystanders who had arrived later must have called them.

In a car nearby, the sniper watched, having gotten rid of all evidence of his presence. It was a pity that the lady had been there, but it was too late to do anything about it, as a thick crowd had formed. He wondered briefly what his clients would say when they learned that he'd failed. He would probably have to kill them. After his pay, of course.
