War of the Gods: 1943
World War Two. Most people think of it as the Allies versus the Axis Powers. But they don't know the truth...
You know the myths about the Greek gods. Well let me tell you, they're true. All the gods: Zeus, Posiedon, Hades, Apollo, Hephaestus, and all the others, and the Titans, Kronos, Atlas, all of them, are real. All the myths are true.
See, Mount Olympus, the home of the gods, moves with the center of civilization, which just happens to be America right now. However, the gods don't always stay on Olympus, they like to come down to Earth. They also like to have kids with mortals.
So, heres where WWII comes in. It was the Allies versus the Axis Powers, but there was a seccret layer under that. It was really the sons of Zues, Poseidon, and all the gods and godesses on their side versus the sons od Hades and his followers.
So enough explaining, lets just get to the story...
My name is Marcus Smith. I am a son of Zeus. I have always been obsessed with fighting. When I was a child, I would always start fights at school, and I would always win. So, imagine how hapy I was when I got drafted into the military. I loved it. I was always in combat, killing the bad-guys.
That's when I was claimed. I was just getting out of a great battle. Me and my squad had obliterated the enemy, not a single one left alive. As I was eating my rations, talking with my best friend, Tex, he gasped and dropped his fork. "What the hell is that?" He was pointing above my head. I looked up, and a glowing blue eagle with a lightening bolt across it was floating there, above my head. Out of nowhere, the Seargent appeared. He ordered me back to his tent. He made a phone call and told me to wait there.
About an hour, he returned with a man in a fancy suit. "Hello, Marcus, my name Is James, how do you do." "Cut the crap, are you here to tell me what the damn floating thing was, or what?" I said. "Well, I suppose you could say that. I am an agent from a government agency known as the UED. That stand for the Unexplainable Events Department. We specialize in the things that you've of, but shrugged off as myths, and the things that you've never heard of and, under normal surcumstances, never will."
"I'm going to tell you some stuff that you will probably just shrug off and call me crazy for saying, but please, give me the benefit of the doubt and hear me out. First of all let me assure that this is all true, I am not crazy..." He Proceeded to tell me about the gods being real, and that the floating thing above my head was my godly parent claiming me as their son. He said that the eagle with a lightening bolt was a sign of Zeus, the king of the gods. He also explained the godly secrets of WWII. "So, do you believe me?" he asked. "Hell yeah I do!" I yelled, "This is awesome!" "you took that better than most. But I suppose that the quicker that information is accepted, the easier my job is. So then, let me get on to the real reason I am here. I would like to recruit you into an elite platoon of soldiers, all sons of the gods. You will be trained to use you godly powers, and taught to use them in combat effectively. However, you will also be put on the front lines against the enemy's finest and their known demigods, which will most likely end up with you dead. So, do you accept?" "Do I look stupid or something, of course I accept! When do I start?" "You will be flown out to the camp tomorrow morning, so I advise that you start packing, Mr. Smith."
