I'm sorry this is so short. I just felt inspired to write this one scene, and now I'm sharing it, because that's what the internet is for.

Disclaimer: I don't own Frozen.

"Your majesty, the gloves," the bishop whispered.

Elsa looked up at him and a bolt of anger rushed through her that quickly fizzled out. She had foolishly hoped that he would forget, and now that the anger was gone she was ashamed of herself for that desperate wish and mind-numbingly scared, because the moment she'd been dreading for months was here. Elsa took a deep breath and pictured her father at his coronation, calm and confident. The mental image was reassuring. I have to do this. She felt the bishop's eyes on her as she slowly pulled her gloves off and laid them on the cushion he was holding. Now there was nothing to keep the ice from leaking out. Her hands shook uncontrollably as she slid her left under the orb and gripped the scepter with her right. Turning, Elsa faced the audience, who stood up in almost perfect unison. Don't feel. Don't. Feel. Shoulders squared and every muscle in her body tense, she stared at the opposite wall, trying her hardest to ignore all the people watching her and pretend she was anywhere else but here. Behind her, she heard the bishop chanting in Old Norse as if he was in a different world. Against her will her eyes traveled down to the orb and scepter, and her breath caught as she saw the frost gathering there. Conceal. Don't feel! Bile rose up in her throat, and it provided a welcome distraction to the bitter ice that she knew was spreading across the objects in her dangerously bare hands…

"…Queen Elsa, of Arendelle!"

Just as she was about to lose it, it was over. Overwhelmed with relief, Elsa dropped the orb and scepter onto the cushion and yanked her gloves back on with inhuman speed, not even noticing the concerned look the bishop was giving her. Looking out at the people clapping and cheering, she found herself smiling ever so slightly. Glancing to her left at Anna with newfound confidence, she promised herself that she was going to talk to her later that evening. Anna deserved so much more, but it was a start.
