The Power of Red

Bill always said that red was Ralph's color. It was true, but Ralph still hated it.
The little green guys came down in that space ship and gave him that red suit. The red tights and black cape made him look like the superhero he was supposed to be. But the red suit also made him look like the fool he was afraid of becoming.
They probably designed the suit in red for a reason. If he hated looking like a fool, Ralph wouldn't wear the suit all the time. After all, he shouldn't get comfortable with his superhuman powers.
