Before his perfectly-made set, a young puppeteer named Razer worked. After his family got separated, he was staying with Geoff Johns, an old friend of his parents until they returned. He had collected a lot o' DC dolls, especially Green Lantern-related ones, and had built a set for them in the basement to have fun with them. Hell, he even made some of his own dolls for future stories! This time, he was planning to make a Gurren Lagann-esque story with the Lanterns, a robotic Lantern as the main protagonist and the Gurren and the Lagann and everything that came from it, with a dash—no, a huge chunk of Sinhal thrown in. And then, he heard a knock on his door. "Razer? May I come in?" a feminine voice asked. Razer opened the door to find his imaginary friend Ilana Mayhem, the military commander of the Lentarn System.
The little boy was delighted to see his best friend, and flung himself into her arms. After a short embrace, she pulled him away to look at him in the eyes, and showed him a pretty little doll. "This is Aya." she said. "Take good care of her, she will lead the upcoming War Of Light to victory."
"Is she alive?" asked Razer. Ilana nodded, then recited from memory.
"The universe was once free and full of possibility. Then came order, and along with it, authority. Everything changed, until nothing changed at all. Now evil seeks an ultimate power, a weapon called the Canon that is a means to absolute control. But there is yet hope:A Trapezohedron Of Resistance. There is also an important prophecy that will guide the good guys in their quest to find the Trapezohedron Of Resistance and defeat the First Lantern and his evil ways. This true and important and very real prophecy states:"
One day a talented lass or fellow,
Wielding rings of green and yellow,
Will make the Trapezohedron Of Resistance found,
From its hiding refuge underground.
And with a noble army at the helm,
This Special One will thwart the Canon and save the realm,
And become the greatest, most important, most interesting person of all times,
All this is true because it rhymes.
Razer was inspired. Ilana continued on, "Some may not believe the prophecy, but others will. Those smarty-pants believe it holds the power to save the universe from the Canon and the First Lantern and his plans for universal domination. Consider this a warning from Laira, the High Priestess of the Universe, who will guide Aya in her journey to follow the prophecy of the Canon, and protect the Trapezohedron Of Resistance. The fate of the universe is in this special doll's hands. She will lead us to victory." Razer gave Ilana a hug, then hooked Aya onto the set along with his custom-made dolls.

Bright red lava flowed from the volcano that marked the entrance to the hidden temple. Inside, a mighty weapon called the Canon was nestled in a great coffin. The High Priestess Laira, who was half Oan and half Qwardian, stood at the temple's entrance, guarding the Canon from the evil that approached. "He is coming." Laira said, turning to the guards on either side of her. "Cover your tush."
"Cover what?" One of the guards looked around, confused. An instant later, the temple doors burst open, knocking the guards into a steaming pool of lava. A tall, glowing figure swept into the temple with an army of constructs at his side.
"Laira." declared the menacing figure, looming over her.
"Volthoom." Laira declared back, unimpressed.
Volthoom nodded. "You've hidden the Canon well, High Priestess." He waved his hand, creating a menacing burst of light. "Now step aside and let the First Lantern have it. I promise I will do you no harm."
Laira stood her ground. "The only harm I fear is the harm you will do to the entire universe if the Canon falls into your hands."
"Your wordplay is weak." Volthoom chuckled. He didn't exactly understand everything Laira said. Sometimes, he suspected the High Priestess liked confusing people with her odd speeches. "First Corps, destroy her!"
"Aye-aye, commander!" The constructs answered in a monotone.
Laira was not afraid. Her own constructs could get her out of any bind, she was one of the few who possessed lantern-like abilities, which she channeled with her staff. She was also the greatest ally of a robotic army known as the A-Y-As, although most of them had been destroyed nowadays and their commander was the only remaining A-Y-A, who had fought bravely until the end with her double-bladed sword, which was later dubbed the Trapezohedron Of Resistance by the seven Lantern Corps. "Your monsters are no match for the High Priestess of the Universe, for I see everything." she told Volthoom. She raised her staff, and began to create the perfect defense:a flock of space eagles that could conquer even the evilest of evil lords. But before she could finish, Volthoom shot two light beams at Laira's eyes, blinding her. "OW! My eyes!" Laira screamed, falling to her knees.
Volthoom smirked at the High Priestess's misfortune. With Laira out of the way, there was nothing standing between him and the Canon. He zipped over to the coffin and threw it open. "UH-HUH! OH, YEAH! The Canon...the most powerful super-weapon...is MINE!" Volthoom felt overwhelmed with power at simply being near such a great and magical piece. "Uaaaaaghhahahahahaaaaa! Now my evil power will be unlimited! Can you feel me?!"
"I can feel you." one of his constructs replied.
"Yaaaaaaaaaay!" Volthoom cheered as his constructs picked up the coffin. "Nothing's gonna stop me now!"
The moment the coffin was removed from its resting place, the volcano rumbled, and the temple walls began to collapse. Volthoom and his army hastily headed for the exit. "Wait..." Laira moaned. "There is a prophecy."
Volthoom stopped, turned, and rolled his eyes. "Oh, now there's a prophecy?"
"About the Trapezohedron Of Resistance...It is time for the sword to return to its rightful owner." said Laira.
"Oh, yes." Volthoom sneered. "The supposed missing Trapezohedron Of Resistance that can somehow magically disarm the Canon. Gimme a break!"
Laira looked slightly possessed as she recited:
One day a talented lass or fellow,
Wielding rings of green and yellow,
Will make the Trapezohedron Of Resistance found,
From its hiding refuge underground.
And with a noble army at the helm,
This Special One will thwart the Canon and save the realm,
And become the greatest, most important, most interesting person of all times,
All this is true because it rhymes.
"Oh, wow, that was a great, inspiring legend..." Volthoom said sarcastically. "You made it up, didn't you?" He kicked Laira into a pit. Then he turned and led his construct army out of the crumbling temple. "A Special One? I mean, c'mon. What a buncha hippy-dippy baloney."
The Trapezohedron Of Resistance(and some of Aya's abilities) is inspired by Demonbane, although we visualize her evolution to go from just regular Aya like this:
1. Arc-Aya
2. Super Galaxy Aya
3. Tengen Toppa Infinity Aya
4. Super Tengen Toppa Infinity Aya
