Chapter 1: The Enderman Are Coming
"Skelly, how are you doing on arrows?" I asked the skeleton sitting across the fire from me.
"I still have thirty-five left, I've been making sure to pick them up from the animals and other things I shoot at" said Skelly setting his bow and quiver down beside him, "How's your sword?"
With great pride I looked down at the present my village had given me. "It'll hold up" I said smiling. On my sword the fire gave off a reflection of Alex who was also looking at his sword. Kind of like Skelly, Alex wasn't what you would call normal. He was a zombie pig man which meant that half of his face was missing. He didn't like it when people stared. "It must be nice to have an indestructible sword!"
"It is not that uncommon where I come from" he replied in his monotonous way. I shrugged my shoulders; he never was big on conversation anyway.
"Guys!" I turned around to face a green creature with no arms making a hissing sound. His name was Creeps. "There's an Enderman coming!" he shouted exasperatedly.
I grasped the sword in my lap. "Skelly you know the drill!" I could hear the skeleton pulling back the string on his bow ready to fire. Alex became more alert and Creeps took his place beside me.
Just like that he was there in front of us. An arrow whizzed past me and I saw the Enderman disappear from sight. "Stay on your toes!" I heard a scream to the left and felt Alex leap over me and stab the Enderman in the shoulder, and then they disappeared again.
"He's got Alex!" Creeps cried. We shifted to the right and Alex and the Enderman appeared in front of us. Creeps and I charged at them. I swung at the Enderman's legs and managed to cut a tendon, while Creeps tackled its back. While the Enderman was falling Alex wrestled free his sword and jumped off of it. I saw five arrows quickly sink in to its back as it fell. Skelly rushed to our side.
"Sorry I couldn't get a clear shot until everyone moved."
"Its okay" I assured my bony friend.
We watched as the tall black creature spit up blood and chuckled "We're watching you, we're always watching…." And with those last words he disappeared into dust.
"Well that was easy!" Creeps said as the ground started to shake. I looked up to see a horde of Enderman coming from over the hill that was north of the camp we had made. Creeps whimpered.
"Skelly you're shooting backup! We've got to move!" I looked at Alex, he just nodded. With that, our little troop started our run through the forest. Creeps stayed to the center of the group because he wasn't all that effective at hand to hand combat. Skelly watched the back, running backwards, while Alex and I stayed in the front.
"They're teleporting!" Skelly yelled. I looked to my left to see Alex had slain an Enderman just moments before. Then one was upon me. I jumped stabbing it directly between the eyes, then rolled off its body while grabbing my sword. Getting back on my feet I saw a dirt block land a few feet away from me.
"They're in the trees!" I yelled to Skelly.
"I know!" he said "We need to find a way out now or we'll never make it!"
I grimaced. I knew it was true. I looked back at Creeps and could see the fear in his eyes, even Alex's face gave off a disgruntled look as he slayed another Enderman. As I ran I thought; how would we ever get us out of this one? As I stabbed another Enderman I heard an all to familiar snap of string.
"Tripw-!" but it was to late the for of us had already fallen into the pit, and the closing of the trap was the last thing I saw before blacking out.
