Comments This was partially inspired by the line Catherine said to Keppler about transfers not fitting in. The team is strong, and this is why.

What does not kill us only strengthens and binds together with each fear.

Don't dread the memories.

Don't wish them away.

For because of this we are what we are today.

-(O)-

The date of your birth marks you for death.

You say you fear not but you do.

You never let emotions show.

You are strong, but now you feel week.

They call you crazy, but you know

You know the killer sits across from you.

And now he has escaped again,

From the law, but not from his past.

From this he can never run.

He says, "I love you" to his mother with a bullet.

You see the woman and her son dead.

You should be relieved, but you mourn.

You will never show it:

You feared the goal-driven killer and still do.

-(O)-

You don't know where you are or why.

All you know is you cannot escape.

Space and chest tighten,

As you loose knowledge and sanity fades.

You do not feel the eyes upon you.

You only feel the fear, tightening, crawling, pinching, burning.

A gun is your companion beside you.

It's friendly smile calls to you.

But someone hears your screams.

Finally they find you, come to free you.

Only an inch of glass separates your hand from his,

Yet souls are worlds apart.

As you are pulled from the abyss,

Relief, gratitude, love, and, still, fear consume you.

Your eyes flutter open, you take it all in.

You wonder, "Where am I? What happened?"

You fear the worst when it finally hits you.

You call upon a trusted friend, no one else.

You don't know what's going on,

But you have a good bad idea.

Relief overtakes you when you hear the news.

You are safe. You have not been violated.

But relief dies with a crash.

You look behind you and your daughter is gone.

When she is returned to you, it's not over yet.

You still don't know why this is happening.

It's revenge for her grandfather's, your father's wrongs.

And he dies in your arms in the street.

You are by your self in the vehicle.

He thought you were ready to go alone.

In the dark ally you find the mob

They are again at their evil deeds against an innocent.

You call for help; you are told to wait,

But you cannot let this evil unfold before you without a fight.

You try to ward them off, lights flashing, horn blaring.

They all flee but one stubborn youth.

He lifts a rock and rushes to attack.

Your vehicle darts forward. The threat is dead.

But not for long. You hear the smash,

Feel the fear, the panic, the pain.

You are on the ground, bruised and bleeding.

You cannot move, you only wait for help to come.

Oh, don't ever wish it away.

For without it, you would not be where you are today.
