"Mulan? Are you in.."

Aurora's question cut short because as soon as she walked into the study of their home, Mulan immediately tried to hide something.

"Aurora! You're home early!"

Mulan squeaked out uncharacteristically. Aurora smiled fondly at this adorable sight.

"The meeting ended early. And I don't do well suiting politics."

"I see."

"What is it that you've got there?"

Aurora asked as she stood in front of Mulan. Mulan blushed and stammered that she had nothing. Unfazed, Aurora leaned forward. So close that their breathes mingled with one another. And then, she reached out and snatched whatever was in Mulan's hand before the poor warrior could react. What she found wasn't that surprising, but intriguing.

"Glasses?"

Why on earth was Mulan embarrassed by wearing glasses? Aurora wondered.

"It's dishonorable that I, a warrior, have worsened my sight. Perfect vision is crucial. I wish that I did not need these when I wish to enjoy a leisure."

Mulan drawled out to Aurora's hidden question. The princess then noticed Mulan was reading a book. A book that Aurora once told Mulan to be her favorite. Upon realization, Aurora gave a soft peck to Mulan's forehead. And slid the glasses onto Mulan soon after. Baffled, the warrior looked up in question.

"You belittle yourself too much. You may still be a warrior, but you are not at war. You shouldn't feel dishonorable to rely on glasses to read books."

Mulan merely blushed and adverted her gaze. Aurora noted how much more adorable the warrior looked now with the glasses. The glasses made her seem more calm in a way different from her usual calamity. Surprised that it was even possible, Aurora felt herself fall for Mulan even more.

"And if I may?"

Aurora asked. She pointed to the glasses. She couldn't stop smiling when Mulan silently took off her glasses. Aurora reached out, but Mulan retracted a bit. She shook her head. Instead, Mulan put them on Aurora as Aurora did Mulan earlier as she smiled the softest smile she'd ever seen. Aurora's heart fluttered even more at the sight. Even though Mulan's expression said it all, she dared to ask.

"Well, how do I look?"

"Beautiful."

Mulan said without a moment of hesitation. This time, Aurora blushed.

"Really?"

Mulan smirked.

"Actually, I might need a closer look."

Mulan leaned closer, standing up from her chair.

"How closer?"

Aurora whispered, leaning closer to Mulan as well, but not leaving from her spot.

"A bit more…"

Mulan breathed out.

"Now?"

Their foreheads touched.

"Perfect."

And then they kissed.
