Once again I awoke the next day, very scared and anxious because today was the day that Talonclaw and me would embark on The Great Journey. I stretched on all fours and slowly headed out the cave door, noticing that I was one of the only ones left inside. As I padded out the entrance it was still early, and most of all the she-cats and toms were off doing their duties. I searched the camp for Talonclaw and found him speaking with Ravenstar our clan leader. " Talonclaw, I know you and Dawnstone will get the job done and make it back safely" I heard Ravenstar speaking to Talonclaw about our journey as I stepped in. " Greeting Dawnstone". Ravenstar greeted me, smiling happily. Talonclaw was also smiling and he looked very excited. " Greetings Ravenstar and Talonclaw" I replied smiling back. " Are you sure you are wanting to go Dawnstone"? Talonclaw asked me looking down at his paws. " I'm sure Dawnstone would never change her mind when it comes to helping out someone special in her life". Ravenstar added. " Of course I want to go and Ravenstar is right, I would never change my mind". I told them both being completely sure in my mind. I really wanted to go, I wanted to help in any way I could. I needed some action in my life and I wanted to be a real warrior! " Come on lets go to the middle of the meeting area" Ravenstar told us both, leading us out back into the camp. " I would like all of the cats of midnight clan to join us in the camp" Ravenstar called out proudly standing in the middle he sure was a true warrior. " We have two of our beloved warriors leaving us for a great journey" Ravenstar had began to explain. " Talonclaw and Dawnstone are going on a great journey that could save our clan for years and years to come. They leave today and I am not sure when they will return, so please say your blessings and wish them luck that they return safely" Ravenstar finished his explanation and came to say his blessings to us. " Dawnstone, I will miss you very much and so will all of your clan. I wish you the best of luck and may starclan watch over you". Ravenstar told me smiling as we brushed pelts. Ravenstar moved next to me to say his prayers and goodbyes to Talonclaw. Then I watched Syrenpelt approach me to talk to me. "Dawnstone Please be careful! You know you are one of the closest clan members to me because you are a sister. We were Denmates. So Please be careful and let Starclan watch over you" Syrenpelt told me then brushed against my pelt. "I know , You are pretty much my sister. I will be as safe as I can". I replied to her. Syrenpelt nodded her head and walked over the Talonclaw. This went on for a while going throught the Warriors, Queens and the Little Kits and Apprentices, but the elders just stood and watched from their den. What a bunch of grumpy old cats. I guess they are just old and crabby that they cant go out and hunt anymore. I thought to myself trying to keep a straight face. " May these Warriors make it there and back safely. May Starclan be with you " Ravenclaw told us one last time as we began to walk out of the camp. This was it, I said my goodbyes and there is no turning back. Whatever happens, We make it or we die I am happy to have been a midnight clan cat.
