Author's note: I probably won't write this in any story of mine, but it should be understood that I do not own any Naruto characters. This particular story is what is going on in my life right now…except a little bit different, but just a little.
Give up or go on?
A tear flowed down her cheek. She looked at him from across the room.
"It's just…I just don't…think we should do this. You deserve better." He faced her, "I feel guilty."She continued to look at him, "Why does everyone think that?! I wouldn't go for you if I thought you were bad or something. I'm very careful when it comes to the people I like. I am no fool."
She turned to the window and jumped down to the street. Landing gracefully she walked towards her home. His face was filled with pain. He shit the window and turned the lights off. He went through the last door and locked it after it shut. He too walked into the night. Finding a nice spot, he sat under an enormous tree and waited.
She picked up the last picture that stool on her nightstand. She was wearing a beautiful green dress that stopped a few inches above her knew. This was taken at her little cousin's wedding. She was holding onto the love of her life. They both were very happy in this photo. She missed those days. She didn't know who was putting nonsense into Kakashi's head. She knew he didn't want their friendship ruined, but he really likes her.
Her finger traced his face. In a way, she wished their love wasn't as confusing. Her cousin married to her life long crush Naruto and everything turned out great for them.
A deep pain ached in her chest as she put the picture in her bag. Saying goodbye without a word is going to make the Hokage mad, but she needed time to think.
She grabbed the bag and thrust it over her shoulder. On her way out she picked up her wallet that was full of all her savings.
At this time in the night, everyone was sleeping. That way was better for her. She wouldn't have to explain herself. Her head was bent down and her bangs covered her eyes. She was almost at the main gate.
"Reya!"
She turned to see none other than Kakashi coming towards her. She didn't think she could take any more pain. He finally reached her. They faced each other in silence.
"What did you come here for?" She asked, breaking the silence.
He moved closer, "I can't let you leave." He held her in his arms.
She kept her tears back, holding all the pain inside, "What do you want? First you tell me we shouldn't continue this and now you are holding me."
"I…I…" he stuttered.
She set his headband straight and moved her hand to his cheek. He never flinched once. She slowly pulled down his mask.
"Now you see me." He said, his voice filled with trust.
She pulled him closer. They embraced in a long, slow kiss. Neither one was willing to let go. He tilted her head upward and continued kissing her gently.
'Where will this take us?' She wondered as they moved towards his apartment. She was never sure if she would regret doing this, but deep down she knew it was the right thing to do. She proved to everyone, including Kakashi that she didn't need anyone else and deserved him.
