After a while Cloud shifted on his seat on the bed. "Leon..." he said in a low, even voice. Leon's eyes snapped to him from his feet and the panic that shot through him annoyed him greatly. "What is this about?"
He found himself pinching the bridge of his nose for the umpteenth time that day before crossing the room in big strides and sat beside Cloud on the bed before he could change his mind. He had no idea how to say what he intended to say. He thought about it all day, even managed to get the courage to tell the man that he wanted to talk and he found that he couldn't. "Cloud, I..." his words trailed off and he sighed deeply, resisting the urge to hit something in frustration or ask him to spar instead.
Inhaling deeply he tried to figure out what to say. He could feel Cloud's eyes on him and soon found himself meeting the gaze. HE could have sworn he'd seen something in the other man's eyes for a moment before it flickered away. And that's when it dawned on him. There was an easy, talk free way that he could do this. Cloud may not appreciate it, hell he didn't know if he would really appreciate it either, but he needed to get this off his chest.
With another quick sigh he grabbed Cloud by the front of his shirt and pulled him towards him, pausing only a moment to glance at the other's eyes before he mashed their lips together. He could feel muscles tense against his knuckles and he thought for sure that Cloud was going to pull back and hit him. Then suddenly there was a hand in his hair and another clutching the front of his shirt and Cloud was kissing him back. Before things could get too heated he pulled back, planting a small kiss on the corner of Cloud's mouth in reassurance.
"Why the hell didn't you say anything?" he questioned, his hands still gripping Cloud's shirt. He couldn't find it in himself to let go. "Why didn't you?" They stared at each other for a moment and then they were kissing again. Who the hell cared if neither said anything, the here the now, and God the feel of Cloud's lips on his own, that was all that mattered.
