Differences

Written in response to the Just dialogue challenge on HPFF challenges forum.

"Hmmm Hi darling, is lasagne ok for dinner?"

"Great, good day?"

"Not bad, you? How's the shop?"

"Good, we should be able to afford that holiday to Barbados soon"

"Should we now?"

"Yeah, sales always double the week before school starts again"

"Good"

"Have we got time for a little lovin' before dinner?"

"Don't I'll spill the sauce, and yes, although your brother may not approve"

"Fred? What's he got to do with it?"

"Your brother George, and I think he might be slightly annoyed if his twin slept with his girlfriend"

"But I am George"

"No, you are Fred, and George is my boyfriend"

"That's another ten you owe me Fred"

"Have a heart George, she called me darling, she thought I was you, I'll give you five"

"I knew you weren't George the minute you opened your mouth, I can tell the difference no matter how hard you try to fool me, and I always call you darling, Fred"

"How does she do that? Brother, your woman scares me"

"I have no idea, even mum can't tell us apart when we put our minds to it!"

"You are so different I can tell you apart easily, which is fortunate because I really don't fancy you Fred"

"How can you tell us apart? We went all out on this one; I'm even wearing his aftershave!"

"It's true, he is, and my clothes, although I must admit, I like it that you can tell me from Fred"

"Fred smells different to you; even your aftershave smells different on him. Your hair is slightly lighter, your eyes paler blue and you hands are rougher, want me to continue?"

"I'm intrigued, what say you George?"

"I certainly am"

"Ok, well, George, your voice is slightly lower than Fred's when you talk to me, you always call me sweetheart when you first come in and kiss me on the cheek, no matter what I'm doing"

"It's true, I do that"

"I could have used that George you dunderhead!"

"I'd still have known, I just know, and of course, George invited you for dinner tonight, so I was kind of pre warned that you would pull something, you always do"

"The woman is amazing, hang onto this one George"

"I intend to Fred, I truly intend to"

"Good, because I like being hung on to! Now go wash your hands for dinner, its ready!"
