There was always the element of surprise.

Risa would muse herself over this one. Riku would constantly say it when they were about to sneak out somewhere or to do something unexpected. Risa thought her sister was the only one who truly believed that. The younger twin thought the other wasn't thinking logically. Though…Risa was never known to use logic at all.

But it was interesting to find someone else thought the phrase was plausible. It wasn't funny or disappointing. It wasn't funny because she had always believed this phrase wasn't right. But it wasn't disappointing either because of the person's other views.

He trusted in other things as well. Risa had just smiled and shook her head. This guy was the one who had looked at her as if she was a potential enemy. Well, Risa though spiteful with little humor, I will tell you this: I do not have potential and I am definitely not an enemy.

Perhaps…she did use logic.

Satoshi; the world's youngest commander officer for a police department and a beautiful genius. He had a the face of an angel, which is a bit redundant, and had a great posture. Fan girls loved him; Daisuke was his best friend (though the blue-haired young man would never admit it); he had every boy envy him; he knew what he was doing all the time.

Flaws? Oh, he had none. He was perfect. Satoshi Hikari was faultless; a perfect image of the angel he was. Everything he did was perfect. And those eyes (the blue eyes hidden behind those cold glasses) were beautiful; every time they passed to one glance to the other, they seemed to have a perfect glint.

And Risa couldn't care less.

In fact, she was probably one of the few people on this earth who believed he was wrong in almost everything he did. Why? He never socialized. Never smiled. Never showed emotion. Never (almost never) answered her questions. Never showed kindness; love.

So when he came to her one evening, as she stood awaiting for Dark on an old bridge, she was surprised. And he said to her, "Well…there's always the element of surprise."

She only stared.

And when he took her hand and led her to her house, she could only follow. And she had asked, "Why are you taking me home?"

"Because," he smiled—a real smile—"a girl should never have to wait for her love."

She had stayed a wake that night, wondering what that had meant. And when she finally knew the answer, she had only said aloud, in her empty room:

"Riku…you were right."
