As of now, the only light she saw was from the baleful glow of the Eye on the demon's forehead, a symbol of his true power and his unholy descent to madness. One would have thought that good would vanquish evil in all stories, but alas, this story wouldn't have a happy ending. She saw the way her friends were tossed aside, their blood spilling onto the floor, and she saw the look of pure horror when her only brother was slashed, then thrown away, as if he meant nothing. It had no meaning to the monster that was named Marik.
The monster then saw her, Serenity, as a useful key in his game, and in turn he took her as his own, ravishing her and robbing her of her innocence, leaving her bloodstained and left of nothing. She had what he wanted, youth and beauty, but what he really needed was her soul, so that he would continue to pillage her of her childhood and happiness, the freedom that she deserved. He needed her soul because he didn't have one of his own; then again, such monsters had no soul. It was a price to pay for immortality and the conquest of destroying the Gods in his own right.
Everyone wanted to see the light at the end of the doomed tournament so that they would continue living, but it was inevitable. No one was pure; everyone was corrupt in their own way. No one knows how exactly, but the truth is there. Serenity was never pure; she was born into a torn bloodline of devil-may-care parents and a brother who only sacrificed himself to demons who paid no heed to morality and mortality. She knew for sure that nothing would be joyous ever again, now that she is chained, bloodstained and corrupted by the monster.
Alone in the dark cell, Serenity wished she were a naïve child again; it would save her from all the pain of losing Joey, her only brother, and her friends, whom are now dead thanks to her. No, dreams are only concoctions of such nightmares and the bitterness will never let her escape from the demon that holds her soul. The bloodstained and the innocent will never see the light again; the demon reigns supreme with his insanity unbroken and knowing for sure that will be no end of eternity for him and the girl.
