Dr. Weir sat in her office musing upon the day's events and the state in which they had first found the city. She thought of an old poem that was strikingly apt. murmuring the words to herself she thought of her first memories of Atlantis.

"lo death has reared himself a throne

In a strange city lying alone

Far down within the dim West,

Where the good and the bad and the worst and the best

Have gone to their eternal rest.

There shrines and palaces and towers

(Time-eaten towers that tremble not!)

Resemble nothing that is ours.

Around, by lifting winds forgot,

Resignedly beneath the sky

The melancholy waters lie."

John Sheppard waltzed into the room then. "Edgar Allen Poe?" Elizabeth's head shot up "major!" "Poe, right?" he asked again. "She looked around, a bit flustered "um, yes The-" "City in the Sea." She looked at him. He raised his eyebrows. "Hey- I know my Classics." She blew out a breath. "It got me thinking about the ancients after they returned to earth. His poem bears more than a striking resemblance to Atlantis." "I know" he said. "kinda makes you wonder what those ancients were really up to when they left. I mean who knows- maybe they found a way to make sure future generations would remember." He smiled at her and left the room.

"And when, amid no earthly moans,

Down, down that town shall settle hence,

Hell, rising from a thousand thrones

Shall do it reverence."

She muttered to herself. "Maybe."
